At the age of 30, Roxan made a bold decision to shift careers entirely, embracing a new path as a sommelier. The journey began in the tasting room of a vineyard in Constantia, where Roxan honed the skills that would lay the foundation for a future in the wine industry. Soon after, a full-time position at Wine Concepts on Kloof solidified this foundation, setting the stage for what was to come.

Just a year later, Roxan applied for a first sommelier role, landing a position at the prestigious Delaire Graff, a Relais & Châteaux property nestled in the heart of Stellenbosch. This role was a pivotal step, providing invaluable experience and deepening Roxan's passion for wine.

Two years passed, and the desire to work abroad beckoned once more. Roxan then accepted a sommelier position with Constance Hotel Groups in the Seychelles, an opportunity that expanded horizons and offered new challenges in an international setting.
In 2019, Roxan returned to South Africa, taking on a teaching role within a government-funded specialist wine program. This role was not just a job but a calling, as it involved guiding and inspiring young adults from across the winelands. The volunteer work with SAYes Mentoring during this time echoed these teaching experiences and deepened Roxan's commitment to education and mentorship.

Inspired by the potential of young adults in South Africa, Roxan founded the Apeirogon Youth Development Academy in 2022, creating a space where learning and growth are central to the journey of each individual. That same year, Roxan completed The Business of Wine Course at the UCT Graduate School of Business, adding a new layer of expertise to an already impressive resume. Currently, Roxan is completing a practicum to become a Thinking Environment Practitioner, continuing the commitment to personal and professional development.
