Hello beautiful, swelteringly hot February 🫠☀️

February is the real beginning of the year in our books..Because, really, January is a blur - playing catch up and deciding what kind of groove and flavour we want for 2024.

Did anyone give Veganuary a go? Or maybe you've pledged to eat more greens. We'll be here on Harrington street and in Somerset West making plant-based lunch choices easy and tasty for you.

This outdoor eatery is a true alchemist, turning fresh and healthy whole foods into magical and delicious dishes that nourish your body and soul. Their mission is to inspire the world to eat more plant-based, and I can confirm they're doing an incredible job!
I had the pleasure of trying the Inari Bowl, and it was a flavour explosion in every bite! This dish is packed with goodness: tempura cauliflower, warm black rice, avocado, sprouts, miso mayo, pickled ginger, radish, cucumber, spring onion, red cabbage, ponzu dressing and toasted seeds. And did you know that black rice contains more disease-fighting anthocyanin antioxidants than blueberries? It's also a great protein, iron and fibre source, making it a superfood!
If you're in Cape Town, stop by Wild Eatery and treat yourself to some wholesome and delicious food that will make your taste buds dance! And don't forget, by choosing to eat plant-based, your health, the environment and animals benefit.

Baden Petersen
1983-2023

We were deeply saddened by the news of the passing of one our suppliers, Baden, who died suddenly in his sleep on 31 May.

Baden was a vital link between small scale community farmers and kitchens like our own. Daily he dropped off fresh, organic produce in his old bakkie, always with a smile and asking how we were doing. When you returned the question he’d reply “always good” and offer little updates about his family. He was dedicated to his loved ones and to everyone in his vast community network.

His kindness, patience and generosity of spirit will forever be an example of how to be better in this world.

Our sincerest condolences go out to his family at this very difficult time.

🌯 All the fresh, taco flavours wrapped up in a wholewheat or homemade gluten-free wrap.

We were savouring this baby behind the scenes for our own lunches and suddenly it dawned, why is this not on the menu?!

Crispy falafel, red pepper hummus, fresh coriander, pickled cabbage, red onion, crisp mixed salad, fresh tomato, cucumber and jalapeños in our chipotle mayo taco sauce. Yummo!
