Animal Anti-Cruelty League Cape Town (AACL CT) has been saving and caring for animals since 1969.

The medical team, under the expert guidance of their Principal Veterinarian, Dr Leandre van der Merwe (known as Dr L), performs miracles every day.

In 2023, the medical team achieved the following:
🐶3,695 lifesaving special surgeries
🐱 4,733 sterilizations to combat overpopulation
🐰 34,463 consultations to support sick animals
🐹 9,306 vaccinations to help protect the animals

This is an amazing achievement, especially considering they receive no support from local or national government!

Microchip events - R150 per animal!🌟🌟🌟

Hundreds of animals are lost daily, and millions annually. The lost and found groups are exceptionally busy to try and reunite the lost animals with their families. Sadly, there are many many more that don’t reach the lost and found groups, that are scared, get hurt and need to fend for themselves.

If only these animals were microchipped, they would have been reunited with only 1 scan and 1 phone call.

A microchip is a permanent identification that is tamper proof. The microchip is injected under the skin with little to no discomfort to the animal. It is automatically also proof of ownership in the case of theft.

Your animal has the best chance to be reunited with you if he/she has been microchipped.
