We recently did a bunch of work on a Toyota Hilux 3.0 D4D. The list of repairs and upgrades we did was excessive, but included the following.
Turbo Upgrade
Turbo manifold
Turbo Oil feed and drain pipes
Stroker fuel pump
Larger Injectors
Fitment of a range of Gauges
Building of down pipe, boost pipes and various other pipes.
Fitment of various other customer supplied dress up parts and intercooler.
At one point it was making around 245kw and 650 Nm, but found an issue with the customer supplied injectors, as result had to detune it for safety while other injectors are being sourced.
For those that might have missed it, we added a Clearance Stock Category on our Online Shop, which are items from our store room. Parts from other projects, some new and some used items we have been keeping safe, many which are hard to find.
You can now purchase these items at reduced rates. We have added over 100 additional parts/products since our last post.
https://motorcade.co.za/product-category/clearance-items/
We are trying to keep all sales online, so they are automatically deleted once sold, may be collected in store or you can select courier options at checkout.
We build custom pipes, whether it be Boost Pipes, Radiator Pipes or Air Intake Pipes, on a daily basis.
Often factory pipes are priced really high, keeps failing or simply just not available. We can custom build most pipes. We however either need the vehicle booked in or the sample pipes booked in, in order for us to estimate and build from.
Send us a Whatsapp or email with photos to discuss your requirements.
Whatsapp 0609840878
Email: [email protected]
Do note that we typically cannot estimate a price based on photos alone, we need sizes and possibly the sample pipe first, in order to do a cost calculation, since the pipes are often quite complex to build.
We have added Yoco Payment Gateway with our already long payment options available with Payfast for Online Orders.
The EFT bank details are still available to those who prefer a more traditional approach.
You can place your order at www.motorcade.co.za
We would like to Wish all the Fathers out there a Happy Father’s Day!
We have added a Clearance Section to our Online Shop, to clear out some redundant stock in our store room which we have imported/bought but not used on a couple of projects.
Some of these parts are hard to find, note stock are limited and once sold the items are removed from the store.
Includes many random Honda K20 and K24 parts, some Toyota, 2JZ and GT86 and Nissan GTR and even BMW and VW/Audi Parts, the list is too long to mention, but is selling out quite fast.
Main and Big End Bearings, Sensors, Gaskets, Seals, Block Guards, Thermostats, Pistons, Rings, ECUs, etc
We will be adding more items continuously, as its very time consuming to upload.

We did a head refresh and timing chains and guides replacement on this Toyota V12 1GZ, since it had a leaking intake valve. Due to the age of the engine, the guides, etc was pretty brittle, so we did preventative maintenance with replacing them while we were busy. The sub assembly appears to be in good condition, so we didn’t need to strip it any further.
Its been quite a wait on parts that are hard to find, but we are busy with the last bit before the fitment into a Nissan Patrol.
Lotus 7 with 20XE Forged Opel Superboss
We have not done much more work on this project, as we are having a hard time finding tyres of the correct size in order to go onto the dyno.
The custom Ram Tubes we had made arrived.
We have continued wiring and still in progress, redoing wiring that was done many years ago.
Apart from the wiring and tyres its ready for the dyno, already did a first oil change.
We have also replaced the brake and clutch master and clutch slave, as its been standing a number of years. Its all bled and leak free.
The recent list of work we have done is quite long since the last update, but nothing exciting really, just odds and ends getting it ready for the dyno.
Our apologies for not giving updates on this project. Toyota 3GR 3.0 V6 and 6 speed auto in Hyundai H100.
The last round of work was finishing off the vehicle and testing.
We replaced various lights, did a lot of wiring repairs, we wired the auto shifter, which someone hacked, so the manual up down shift and the sport function works.
The cluster was also replaced and we created signals to make the rev counter and speedo work 100%, without glitches. Aircon compressor, condenser, etc was replaced due to metal particles we found in the system, now blows super cold!
The list that we repaired is way too long to mention, but it even included the replacement of a corrupt ECU that came with the vehicle.
Remember we do the Toyota/Lexus Immobiliser delete in-house and we deleted a bunch of error codes which are not applicable to the conversion, such as battery terminal monitoring, post cat oxygen sensors, etc
The vehicle drives excellent, the gear shifts are super smooth and quick for an auto of this era in Sport mode.
This thing is a nice cruiser and can surprise quite a number of cars with its acceleration, a real sleeper.
Its been with the customer a couple of weeks and seems extremely happy.
Opel 2.0 16V 20XE Forged Engine Rebuild continued. Yes, that is right, its fitted into a Lotus 7 racing car!
Sorting out issues on the car one by one. Leading up to last weeks post, we pressure tested all the systems, oil, fuel, coolant, etc and corrected what we had to before startup.
Also finished off items like blanking the old distributor mount, etc in preparation for starting the engine.
Unfortunately Facebook would not allow us to mix videos and photos in a single post, so we had to split it over 2 posts.
We continue work on thé Hyhundai H100, fitted with Toyota 3GR-FSE 3.0 V6.
After welding the diff mounts and painting it in the previous post, we continued by fitting the diff back into the vehicle, while replacing much needed shackle bushes and damaged shackles. Some new shocks was also fitted.
Since the vehicle is far from standard and had no handbrake, we had to also build some custom handbrake cables.
We also made the engine oil dipstick fit within the engine bay, it used to be mounted against the body on the outside, for anyone to access.
Its getting close to done!

First start video.
Stay tuned for more!
Ford Focus ST250 was booked in for an oil leak. It was a severe oil leak, we had to thoroughly wash the engine a couple of times, to get rid of all the grime, in order to locate the leaks.
The crank seal had failed and the tappet cover was warped and had a crack, through which the oil leaked.
Since these engines does not come with keyways on their cranks for the crank pulley or the timing sprockets, you have to fit all the cam timing locking tools, in order to remove the crank pulley to replace the seal.
Working continues on the Hyhundai H100, with 3GR-FSE Engine…
We removed the diff, cut off all the old dodgy and unsafe mounts, refitted to vehicle, corrected the pinion angle, welded the new mounts, with incorporated shock mounts and painted it, ready for fitment back into vehicle for a final time.
Custom Fabrication
Although we sometimes avoid having to do jobs such as this, since its not cost effective, building an radiator end tank on an Audi RS4, it is sometimes necessary, since parts are not always available.
We managed to fabricate the end tank out of aluminium to replace the leaking plastic tank, fitting exactly in the original location with original hardware.
Toyota Prado was booked in for airbag replacement, since the rear suspension would lower over night.
On these they only have airbags on the rear, to level the vehicle out, which is a great help when towing or carrying heavy loads.
After we replaced the perished airbags, during testing, we noticed there was an issue with the exhaust valve on the compressor. The suspension would raise, but could not lower. We remove the compressor assembly and stripped it, to find lots of water contamination. The exhaust ports was corroded closed and had lots of dirt inside.
We selected to rather fit a refurbished compressor and get the vehicle back on the road, as agents pricing was extremely high.
While the vehicle was with us, we also repaired a faulty ho**er, which we diagnosed as a faulty/broken Clock Spring, which was replaced with an generic part.
Opel 2.0 16V 20XE Forged Engine Rebuild continued. Yes, that is right, its fitted into a Lotus 7 racing car!
Sorting out issues on the car one by one and upgrading the parts as we go along.
Another EGR Delete, this time on a 120Kw Amarok 2.0TDI.
The EGR coolers are prone to failure on these models and often mis diagnosed or vehicle driven unaware of the coolant leak, which can cause catastrophic engine damage.
On these we supply a full delete kit, removes the EGR cooler completely, blanks the Turbo manifold and head, to stop the flow of gasses and bypassing the water supply to the EGR Cooler.
Continued on the Hyhundai H100 with the Toyota 3.0 V6 3GR-FSE, it got a much needed gearbox service and some wiring repairs, including the addition of an OBDII plug in order to do diagnostics.
We also designed new heavy duty diff brackets on CAD and had them laser cut, since someone did some creative diff mountings, which are not very safe, especially for a vehicle that can carry a big load.
Stay tuned for more updates soon.
We would like to Thank all our Loyal Customers for their continued support!
Its such a wide range of vehicles that we work on, from exotic and Sports and GT Race Cars to fleet work bakkies, family SUVs, ordinary daily cars, some classics and even overlanding vehicles.

This particular Hyhundai Elantra came in due to poor handling and customer wanted it repaired before going on a long trip. We replaced the shocks, front wheel bearings and lower control arms.
While were repairing the suspension, the customer complained about the car doesn’t always want to start, even though it has a new battery fitted. After some diagnostics, we found the starter to be faulty and fitted a new starter.
None of the window switches worked, not on the individual doors or the main control switche. We managed to repair all the switches burn contacts and is working 100% again.
Opel 2.0 16V 20XE Forged Engine Rebuild Continued
Bmw E90 320i arrived for diagnostics, due to poor performance and occasional limp mode.
After a lot of diagnostics, we found the injectors to be in poor condition, we had the injectors through a few cleaning cycles in the ultrasonic bath, but post tests revealed they could not be saved.
Thus we ordered and fitted a new set of injectors and the car is running much better and customer reported there are now no limp mode anymore.
We also reported to the customer other items that needs attention and some problems that will be coming up soon, such as the timing chain that are stretched to nearly the point where it will start giving error codes on the ecu.
Hyhundai H100 arrived after a Toyota 3GR-FSE was fitted by another workshop and needing some work desperately.
This is a 3.0 V6 Toyota engine with direct injection.
It arrived miss-firing and running very poor.
We drained the fuel tank and gave it a good clean plus replacement of the internal pump strainer. Replaced the iridium spark plugs and confirmed all the coils are firing.
Next up we replaced all the fuel lines and added a regulator, since there was no fuel pressure regulator fitted and all new high quality stainless hose clamps.
After that we addressed the cooling system, all new pipes, since the rusty mild steel pipes was leaking and adding a thermostat, since there was not one fitted, together with a new radiator and coolant.
The air intake pipe was also connected to the filter box and the engine breather connected, so you don’t get an oily smell while driving.
We are not done yet, stay tuned for more.
Ford Focus ST250 came in for annual service.
We attended to a list provided by the customer and while repairing the engine rear main oil seal, we found it was in desperate need of an clutch replacement.
Also replaced tappet cover gasket and vvt solenoids seals, since someone fitted universal seals, which was leaking terribly.
Some wiring repairs was also performed, since it melted on the exhaust.
Polo Vivo GT, came in for a regular service, where we found a failed rear wheel bearing and it needing rear brakes as a result. We decided to paint the disks to prevent the surface rust.
Customer selected to fit a Cold Air Intake while we were busy and should be back for more mods soon.
Ford Fiesta MK7 1.4 came in for annual maintenance and customer asked us to look why the power steering doesn’t work.
After diagnostics and testing it was found it had a faulty control unit, which was not available as a loose item and the assembly costs over R50k at the agents, so we priced an used part before attempting to repair it.
Turns out its far cheaper just to buy a used part than repairing it.
Used steering column was sourced, fitted and control module coded, works 100% at around 10% the costs of the agents price.
Amarok 2.0 TDI that we did annual maintenance on during December, including cam belt and waterpump replacement and multiple oil leak repairs.
Customer also complained about lack of power and engine light that was on, which was diagnosed and repaired by the replacement of the faulty boost control solenoid.
Opel Meriva 1.4T arrived after overheating due to a coolant reservoir cap failure. Unfortunately the head gasket didn’t survive and after initial teardown we found the bores are also oval.
Customer needs to choose either full rebuild or fitment of an import/used engine.
Unfortunately these are not the most reliable engines and can see very poor work completed before inside the engine, including gasket maker in some oil ports.
A lack of maintenance are also evident from earlier in its life.
