Don't be fooled.
Every time an evolutionist scientist claims he sees evolution happening in his lab, he is referring SOLELY to trivial changes, microevolution, small changes in color, size, antibiotic resistance, pesticide resistance, ... NEVER does he/she refer to one species turning into a very different one.
Never has anyone, in spite of a century of experimentation on fruit flies, for example, gotten anything other than more fruit flies. Nor has
There are NO cases, no accounts of any macroevolution from any lab on earth. None.
Lenski's E.coli experiments have still not produced anything but more E. coli.
Now here's where it gets weird.
When you note this fact to any hard-line evolutionist, they will usually reply with something akin to, "Well that's because macro takes place over millions of years and thus cannot be observed."
But then, you say, "Fine, then given that you just admitted the thing you believe in cannot be observed, why do you believe it happened?"
To this, the evolutionist responds, "Fossils! Homology! Morphology!"
But then when you point out that fossils actually disprove Darwinian-style gradualism(Mayr, Provine, Berlnski, Shapiro, Bechly, ...) and that homology, morphological similarities, taken as evidence of evolution is purely bad logic, they either grow silent or they scurry to google, desperately seeking some article that appears to support their humongous claims. Then they post the links to the articles, without bothering to actually read and examine them objectively and think they have refuted you.

In the end, evolutionists are always left to their wild speculations about how this or that new taxa "might have, could have, possibly, maybe..." evolved. Never even imagining that that kind of reasoning is not science but fallacious, and that they simply have nothing but historical narrative left.

Indeed. Historical narrative means an invented tale of how the scientist imagines it might have, could have happened, though he has no empirical evidence for it ever happening at all.

All while we have people here, who persistently claim that yes, fossils can disclose their ancestors and descendants so reliably that we have proof of their evolution. Nonsense. False extrapolation, apophenia, pareidolia and circular reasoning (things most evolutionists are ignorant of) are ubiquitous in evolution.
Paleontologist, Dr Günter Bechly notes,

"Darwinian evolution would predict that new body plans originated in a stepwise process with small changes adding up to big differences. But what we find in the fossil record is abrupt appearance in a kind of top-down pattern. New body plans appear abruptly in the fossil record. We also do not find the required gradual species-to-species transitions."

Yes Mr/Miss scientist, you see "evolution" happening in your lab, but it is in no way that which you preach so religiously to the public, and it is mere evidence of built-in, brilliantly designed, preprogrammed algorithmic mechanisms for allowing adaptation and variation within the taxonomic Family and below - and largely through epigenetics, not mutations in DNA.
The con game continues as scientists, since Darwin did it, still use this sleight of hand, this dishonest, bait-and-switch double definition of evolution.
