Klein Sering is a proud producer of Semillon & a white Bordeaux blend consisting of 60% Sauvignon Blanc & 40% Semillon.
Semillon is a plump white grape popular in Bordeaux, South Africa and Australia.
It is thick-skinned and relatively easy to cultivate with a good resistance to disease.
Semillon is an excellent variety for long-term ageing, expect to be able to put it away for up to 15 years.
Semillon works well with seafood, especially shellfish, pork, veal, chicken, game birds or dishes with cream sauces.

DID YOU KNOW?
The name, Klein Sering, meaning “Small Syringa Tree” was inspired by the original Koen family farm.
While the house was being built, two main blocks of vineyard were established with 65% Sauvignon Blanc vines and 35% Semillon vines. A total of one hectare of vineyard.
In 2016, our first harvest produced 1800 bottles of wine, which has since increased to 9,500 bottles in 2022.

The famous white wine blending partners of Bordeaux France, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, bring uniquely different characteristics, and elements of flavour and texture.

Sauvignon Blanc brings a vibrant fruit character and refreshing acidity, while Sémillon adds body, texture and allows complexity to develop.
