If you make cheese/paneer/almond milk or anything that requires a fine sift/cloth tor the process, I highly recommend these bags. I got mine from Temu at just R9. I have been making my own paneer for years and the straining part is the biggest challenge for me. This bags are just the best thing ever. It literally strains of most of the whey without any effort. When you squeeze the curds in other types of bags ot cheesecloth, something the curds get wasted in the process but with these bags it doesn't happen. I love that it is super easy to wash off too, the paneer doesnt get stuck to it like it does with cheesecloth. I made paneer last weekend and again this weekend because its such a simple process with this bag. At R9 I am super impressed.

Since this is a seasonal find, I decided to give it a try this year. Romanesco Brocolli. It looks like something your would expect to find in the ocean but I think it would make a pretty succulent plant because of its intricate pattern. So we googled recipes and was told although it is called Brocolli it has the same properties of cauliflower.
My husband decided to cook this exactly as we cook cauliflower ( spices, masala and tomato) it is the same as cauliflower in taste but the texture is slightly firmer than cauliflower. The last image is from the internet of what it looks like when cut. I was suprised to see it is white inside although the outer is a beautiful green.
Side note it's origin is Italy 🇮🇹

Last weeks FIND at Food Lover's in CPT.
I think that because I love gardening, I take extra time to notice these things and even read up on them. Sorry if I was ever in your way in this store 😂 I take my time to touch the things, compare the sizes and if possible smell I even them 🤭 I can easily spend 2 hours in the store.
These are an absolutely gorgeous looking fruit called FINGER LIME. They look like a mini oval shaped avocado. Inside are little caviar of lime. How cute are they... they look like orbeez or little glass balls. They are native to Australia but we have them here 🤭 so the pack was R59 and there are between 4 to 6 in a pack, depends on the size of them. They taste between a lemon and a lime mixed together 👌 for the perfect lime cheescake 😋

This is PURPLE/ RED Bhindi/ Lady fingers/ Okra. I read that it tastes between an eggplant and asparagus and is more delicious than the common one 🤷‍♀️ I didn't buy them because how do I know if the light ones are better than the dark ones or vice versa and they feel the same texture too. and they are R90kg

Nah I past the skinny phase 🤣

If you know....

Even when tempted to do a cake smash on someones face, think twice. There are many bakers that use skewers the keep the cake in position and will hurt the person ( even worse if it pierces their eye) keep safe.

Ever wonder how these gravity defying cakes are so stable... they are held together by these stands and/or tons of icing and sometimes edible glue and freeze spray.
