**New GP Practice Opens at Medicross Richards Bay**

Medicross Richards Bay is proud to announce the addition of Dr Nhlakanipho Mkhize to its premises. Dr Mkhize, a seasoned medical professional with a diverse background, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the practice.

Dr Mkhize's credentials are impressive. He obtained his MBChB from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Zululand, with a major in biochemistry. Not stopping there, he also achieved a postgraduate honours degree in hydrology.

Prior to pursuing his medical career, Dr Mkhize spent four years as an environmental scientist at RBM (Rio Tinto), showcasing his multidisciplinary approach to healthcare. He then transitioned to medical studies at UKZN, graduating in 2008.

After completing his community service obligations, Dr Mkhize dedicated three years to the Military Health Services of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) as a medical officer. Subsequently, he spent nine years in the internal medicine department at Ngwelezana Hospital, followed by three years in the paediatric department to broaden his understanding of medicine.

Dr Mkhize's medical interests are wide-ranging, with a focus on lifestyle diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. He has also developed a keen interest in kidney and blood diseases, demonstrating his commitment to holistic patient care.

Beyond medicine, Dr Mkhize is known for his passion for music. He has been featured as a guest on various radio stations, sharing his medical expertise with the community.
