Feels like... a cool time to service your air-con. 🥶

Here's why:

1. You obviously aren't using your aircon as much right now (if at all) so, by servicing now you avoid unnecessary, badly timed and costly callouts when you need the unit most. You know... summer. 😅

2. It prevents mould and bacterial build up in your indoor fan coil unit. (eww)

3. It prevents sludge build up on the drainpipe and fan, preventing water leaks.

4. Improves energy efficiency on the outdoor compressor.

5. Applying Tectyl (rust proofing) prevents corrosion. i.e. Your unit lasts longer.

The months are starting to cool slightly.
Of course, it’s KZN so that’s pretty relative. As in, it’s so hot and humid here 80% of the time, for the brief window that it isn’t… well, its still hot for most people.

That being said, the best time to service your air-con is obviously when it is not in use/before you are going to need it again. You want to be ready right, for when the temperatures suddenly ratchet up (or down)!

It is recommended that you service your units at least once a year (and have a mid-year minor service) however in our sunny, wild, windy province so close to the salt air and sea. Our filters can get clogged up easily and our units can succumb to the abrasive nature of the ocean air and suffer wear and tear quicker than expected.

You don’t want to ignore a problem and then suddenly have the added expense of replacing an air con right when you need it most. Especially if a little maintenance at a fraction of the cost could have saved you the money and hassle.

Check compressors/coils/drain lines
