Ruutz is a small all-round fashion house established in 2013 by aspiring trend-setter, Bayanda Hlongwane as an extension of her mother’s business. The talented duo hails from Parkgate, Verulam in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Ruutz was initially a home-based establishment run by a team of women who branched off to work independently. The Ruutz team have been in business since 2001, having taken part in a number of fashion shows touring locally, and are a fashion force to be reckoned with. Bayanda’s mother raised her single-handedly and to show appreciation, as well as her passion for fashion, Bayanda has committed herself to taking the business to another level. The young fashion connoisseur comes from a family of creatives and draws inspiration from home, guided by the helping hand of her mother, who is a seamstress by profession and a great part of Ruutz.
