On 02/09/2024, Blue Security CCPU responded to a theft in progress at Dilkoosh Road, Moseley. The suspect had stolen copper pipes and fled towards the M7. Our CCPU quickly spotted the suspect along the M7 near Northdene, visibly carrying his bag of copper pipes.

As our CCPU approached, the suspect initiated a chase, weaving through traffic on the M7. Ultimately, the suspect abandoned his bag and disappeared into the bush lining the M7. The bag containing the copper pipes was recovered and subsequently returned to the rightful owner, who confirmed it as the piping stolen from his property.



We commend our CCPU for their swift response and determination in recovering the stolen property. Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help keep our community safe. 💙

🚔 Success Report: Theft from Vehicles Suspect Apprehended in Chatsworth 🚔

In a coordinated operation involving Durban North Rapid Response, Berea CID, and Blue Security Tactical Unit, a significant arrest was made on Sunday, August 25, 2024.

The information gathered led our operational teams to a wanted vehicle suspected of being involved in numerous thefts from motor vehicles in the Durban North area and its surroundings. This vehicle was tracked down to Chatsworth in the early hours of the day, where the suspect was successfully apprehended.

The suspect is now detained at Berea SAPS, whilst the other charges from surrounding stations are brought and the vehicle used in the crimes has been seized and booked as an exhibit.



This operation underscores the effectiveness of collaboration among different security and law enforcement teams.

🚔 Success Report: Suspect Apprehended After Alarm Activation in Westmead 🚔

Blue Security's Armed Response Officers (ARO) swiftly responded to an alarm activation at a Westmead Road business. Upon conducting a thorough property check, our ARO discovered pieces of copper pipes cut and lying on the floor inside the toilet, suggesting the suspect might still be inside.

Due to movements heard from the closed toilet, the initial ARO called for backup. Two additional ARO teams quickly arrived on the scene. After verbal commands for the suspect to come out were refused, the teams forcibly entered the toilet and found the suspect hiding inside. The suspect was apprehended without further incident.

Control was notified, and the key holder was called to the scene. Upon arrival, the client was briefed about the break-in and subsequently informed the main property owner. The client confirmed that they had recently moved into the building and were in the process of updating their security measures.



This incident highlights the importance of timely and coordinated response in ensuring the safety of business properties. Thank you to our ARO teams for their effective action.

Late in the evening, a client reported via WhatsApp an intruder on their property located on Warrior Road, Hillcrest. Our Blue Security Armed Response Officers (AROs) were quickly dispatched to the scene. Upon their arrival, the suspect fled into the nearby bush, evading initial capture.

However, at approximately 22:25 PM, the same suspect returned to the site. Our vigilant AROs responded once again and this time successfully apprehended the suspect for trespassing.

The suspect was subsequently handed over to Hillcrest SAPS for further processing.

On the evening of August 20th, 2024, at approximately 18:00, a message was shared in the Waterfall 1 Emergency group alerting the community about a suspect who had broken into a property in The Walk. Quick to respond, the Neighbourhood Watch and Blue Security promptly arrived at the scene.

The homeowner had witnessed the break-in and managed to chase the suspect off the property. A detailed description of the suspect and the direction in which he fled was provided by the resident. Collaboratively, Blue Security, Waterfall Street Patrol, and neighbouring residents conducted a search, successfully locating the suspect hiding in a nearby property.

The suspect was apprehended and handed over to SAPS. Thanks to our extensive network with all the Neighbourhood Watches in the greater Crestholme, Forest Hills, and Waterfall areas, we were able to confirm that the suspect had been previously arrested for similar crimes. The relevant case numbers were provided to SAPS to assist with their ongoing investigations.

Our Blue Security Armed Response Officer (ARO) was quickly dispatched to a commercial client's premises on Freese Road, New Germany, following a report of a suspect on site. The suspect had stolen a length of power cable from a machine and attempted to flee.

With the assistance of another security partner, our ARO gave chase. The suspect fled into the Claremont taxi rank and climbed onto a building roof. His escape was thwarted when he jumped off the roof and landed directly in front of our ARO, who immediately apprehended him.

The stolen cable was recovered and returned to the premises, where the client confirmed it belonged to their business. A case of theft was subsequently opened, and the suspect was handed over to Pinetown SAPS for processing.

Blue Security's ARO apprehended two suspects at a local scrap yard on Freese Road, New Germany. The suspects were found in possession of three 210-litre drums, identified as stolen from a business on Henred Road.

The theft was facilitated by cutting a wire fence to gain unauthorized access to the property. The client's yard supervisor confirmed the drums were stolen from his premises.

SAPS Pinetown was promptly involved, and the suspects were handed over to their custody, ensuring a swift response to the theft.

In a coordinated effort, our Blue Security Tactical Manager maintained contact with a client in Tara Crescent, La Lucia, who had identified a suspect involved in a previous incident. Leveraging information gathered by our tactical unit on the suspect’s whereabouts, we acted swiftly when the suspect was spotted again.

Upon confirmation, our control room dispatched an ARO unit to Oakley Ave, La Lucia, while our Tactical Unit reached out to the local Neighbourhood Watch, Home Hawks, for additional support. The suspect was successfully apprehended by our ARO and subsequently detained by SAPS Durban North.



We commend our Tactical Manager, ARO, and the Home Hawks for their vigilance and effective collaboration. On 14/08/2024, our Tactical Unit swiftly responded to a WhatsApp call for help from a New Germany neighbourhood watch group. A residence on Janine Place was burglarised, and the suspect was spotted by the victim fleeing with a kitbag full of stolen items. The chase led into a river polluted with sewage.

Our Tactical team traced the suspect’s path along the river, leading to a dramatic chase. Despite attempting to escape, the suspect ran directly into our Area Community Manager. In a desperate attempt to flee, the suspect turned back only to be pursued and apprehended.

The stolen items recovered included 2 laptops, 2 iPads, a WiFi router, 3 watches, and various cables. The suspect and the stolen property were handed over to SAPS Pinetown, who attended the scene, and the suspect was detained.



We applaud our Tactical Unit and Area Community Manager for their determination and resilience, ensuring the community remains safe. During a routine patrol after attending to an alarm activation on Brand Road, Glenwood, our Blue Security ARO witnessed a gentleman being robbed. Demonstrating quick action, our ARO gave chase as the suspects fled in a navy-blue vehicle along Helen Joseph Road and proceeded to Cato Road.

The pursuit continued with other security roleplayers until the suspects' vehicle entered Essex Grove. Back-up was called, and the suspects were successfully intercepted on Mazisi Kunene Road. The vehicle and suspects, along with the victim, were taken to Umbilo SAPS, where a case was officially opened.

This Women’s Month, we want to highlight Geroldine Pretorius, a pivotal member of our neighbourhood watch community and a dedicated contributor to the Clifton Park Community Forum. With over a decade of collaboration with Blue Security, Geroldine has been an instrumental figure in coordinating security efforts in Clifton Park.

Her role involves daily interactions with our operations team, where she remains abreast of the latest crime movements and potential risks in the area—all while managing her full-time job responsibilities. Whether it’s responding to crime incidents, medical emergencies, or even assisting with lost pets, Geroldine’s commitment to her community is unwavering.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Geroldine for her invaluable contributions and the countless hours she dedicates to enhancing the safety of her neighbourhood. As we approach Women’s Day, we salute her tireless efforts, knowing well that her vigilance continues, keeping a watchful eye over the community through numerous WhatsApp groups.

Blue Security teamed up with Pinetown SAPS and other security companies in a special operation aimed at cleaning up the Pinetown CBD. Our role was to provide backup support during the arrest of illegal immigrants who were found selling cannabis in the area. This collaborative effort led to the arrest of a total of 11 suspects.

We are committed to supporting law enforcement and other security firms in ensuring our communities are safe and law-abiding.

In a commendable act of vigilance, our ARO noticed a gentleman walking along the N2 heading north in the Amanzimtoti, Athlone Park area, carrying a sack and a small black handbag. Upon inquiry, the ARO checked the contents of the small bag and discovered a cellphone inside.

The phone, identified as a work phone with photos of meter readings, was claimed by the gentleman to have been found in a dump earlier that day. Our ARO managed to contact the phone's rightful owner by using the last dialed numbers listed in the phone's call log.

The owner, an employee of the municipality, had previously reported the phone missing and had filed an affidavit with SAPS regarding the loss. Thanks to the quick actions of our ARO, the phone was successfully returned to its grateful owner.

🚔 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 🚔

On 11/08/2024, Blue Security's Area Manager approached a suspect along Caversham Road, Pinelands. Upon spotting our manager's vehicle, the suspect immediately fled but was quickly chased down and apprehended.

The suspect was found in possession of an Acer computer tower, two computer speakers, computer cables, and a 5-litre wash and wax container. It is believed that these items were stolen from the area. The suspect and the stolen property were handed over to the members of SAP Pinetown. He was charged after failing to provide a reasonable explanation for possessing the property.



We commend our Area Manager for their vigilance and quick action, leading to the recovery of stolen property and the apprehension of the suspect. Stay alert and continue to report any suspicious activities to keep our community safe! 💙
