Some of the clearing errors on foundation

I have witnessed a wrong exercise of a cut and fill methodology being utilised mostly in township & rural projects. Which has a potential of causing cracks on the foundation structure if not done correctly. Some builder do the cut and fill and their compaction materials fails the recommended standard. That causes the ground soil to crack and affect the structure of the building.

The method of cutting and fill is informed by the geo report and building designer specification. It is not a construction fashion to go through that process but the conditions determine the method to be used for site clearing.

Such an error affects the value of the property asset. As the property assets generate value over time for the owner. This error should be avoided at all costs by the owner and the builder.

On the foundation

The role of the foundation is the most important part of the building. The foundation is the base of the building, which means it is the strength of the whole building. As it carries the entire weight of the walls, roof, occupants and must withstand any possible goetechnical conditions.

A builder cannot compromise specification and methodologies of foundation construction. As that could comprimise the entire in future. The subbase quality is the pillar of the building quality and durability of the building. The walls and roof quality relies on the subbase quality.

If the foundation is poorly constructed walls will cracks caused by the foundation and roof will have comprised leaks.

Bricks

Constructing with bricks is a durable and quality foundation construction method. As solid brick material that provide the required strength for the foundation wall. Most building designers use brick method as it iscomplying with the required building standards for foundation structures. The disadvantage of this mothod is the expensive cost of materials and manpower.

Blockwork

The are different types and quality of blocks specifications, types, size, quality and strength that are recommended for different types of construction. The is specific type of a block recommended for foundation atructure and requires more reinforcements to reach recommended strength. This method is cheap as material and manpower cost less then those of brickwork.

It is important to note that foundation are the critical part of building construction. This part requires a professional designs and specifications for professional construction.
