Ridge Park College
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Nelson Mandela
The atmosphere was electric on the morning of August 7th, 2024, as the Ridge Park College Representative Council of Learners (RCL) and our educators, dressed in black, took to the streets in a powerful demonstration against gender-based violence (GBV) in celebration of Women's Day. Our learners, proudly clad in school uniforms, nearly brought traffic to a halt. With fists raised, voices united in freedom songs and school anthems, and posters held high, our young women made an undeniable statement for gender equity. Their chants for justice and calls to action resonated so strongly that passing parents showed their support with waves and honks. As more learners joined, they seamlessly became part of the movement, any conflicts or issues forgotten in a unified display of solidarity. Our young women truly shone as role models, carrying themselves with grace and dignity throughout. The public's enthusiastic response and encouragement made this an emotional and inspiring morning that left a lasting impact on everyone involved. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported and assisted! Let’s continue to stand together for justice, gender equity, and an end to GBV. Happy Women's Month 2024!
To the wonderful Dads of RPC.
Have a great Father’s Day! 🌹
Happy Mother's Day
In every heart, a mother's love resides,
Guiding, nurturing, through life's changing tides.
For Mothers, fathers who are mothers, and grandparents who are mothers dear,
Who raise our learners with joy and cheer.
With tender care and endless grace,
They shape young minds in every place.
Their warmth and wisdom light the way,
On this special Mother's Day.
To all who play a mother's part,
You're cherished and loved from the heart.
For every hug, every smile, every tear,
Thank you for being so incredibly dear.
Happy Mother's Day to you,
For all the amazing things you do!
Eid Mubarak to our amazing family!
May your hearts be filled with joy, your homes with love, and your days with blessings.
Enjoy this special time with your loved ones. 🌙✨
The Ridge Park College Life Orientation Department hosted our annual Grade 12 Careers Fair on Saturday 17 Februray 2024. There were 45 tertiary institutions present, ranging from Public Universities and Technikons, Private colleges, financial institutions, bookstores, beauty schools, hospitality institutions and many more.
Our Grade 12 learners together with their parents were able to have one on one discussions with the representatives of these institutions and gather valuable information. The event was a resounding success and will certainly help our learners in the next few months as they begin the process of applying for tertiary studies.

On Thursday, December 7th, 2023, the Prefects engaged in a meticulously coordinated in-house leadership program orchestrated by Miss H Bux. Tailored to cultivate camaraderie among the girls, it strategically placed them in scenarios fostering group dynamics. Our budding school leaders excelled, demonstrating teamwork through laughter, taking initiative, and adeptly following instructions, effectively meeting the course's objectives.
Congratulations to Ms SMN Khumalo (Consumer Studies), Mr P Teja (Maths Literacy), Mrs N Moodley (Tourism) and Dr T Naidoo (Hospitality Studies), who were awarded with Certificates of Recognition and Appreciation, from the Umlazi District for their contribution as Lead Educators in the District, in their respective Learning Areas.
The Mentorship (Big Sister) Programme is a programme where the Grade 11 learners become mentors to the new Grade 8 learners. The programme is designed to help the new Grade 8 learners adapt and ease into high school, as it can become very overwhelming and daunting for them to be in a new environment.
Training for the 2024 Mentors took place on Wednesday 29 November. The new Mentors had lots of fun as they participated in the different activities which were designed to get them to bond and think creatively. The outdoor session was followed by a plenary discussion where the Grade 10 Mentors shared with the educators what they feel we should focus on in 2024.
We look forward to a productive and rewarding Mentorship Programme in 2024.

In stadiums where warriors tread,
Where battles fierce and legends spread,
A trophy gleams, a prize well-won,
The Rugby World Cup, under the sun.
Through tackles hard and endless strife,
They fought with courage, forged their life,
The champions rise, the world's applause,
In this grand game, they break the laws.
The scrum, the lineout, passes true,
From try to try, they break on through,
With unity and strength, they soar,
Champions forever, we'll adore.
In every heart, the victory's sung,
For in the end, the game is won,
The Rugby World Cup, they now possess,
A testament to skill and success.
Their names etched in history's scroll,
These heroes with a common goal,
To win the Cup, with pride they say,
"We conquered all, on this grand day."
So raise your voices, cheer and sing,
For rugby's glory, let joy take wing,
The champions crowned, their spirits high,
In the Rugby World Cup, they touch the sky.
Well DONE
Dear Class of 2023

In this challenge, you'll pass the test.
