There are drag racing enthusiasts eager to hit the track but struggling to keep up with the high cost of competing against big-budget racers.

This has resulted in a decline in participation for many competitors and a lack of diversity in the sport.

Analysing results over recent years in KZN reveals that on average more than 80% of competitors post results quicker than 13sec over the 1/4 mile.
This is mainly attributed to technological advancement that require big budgets.

Unlike prior years low budget racers have very little chance of being competitive.

To address this issue, KZN Motor Racing has recreated our "superstreet classes" which we started 20yrs ago to cater for competitors running 13sec and above.

Requirements are cars must be street legal. Street tyres or "rally" slicks like Toyos R888; Bridgestone Potenza RE55 etc are allowed.

Race your budget modified car with competitive confidence.

Cars with turbo conversions allowed.

3;4;5;6;8 and 10 cylinders can compete.

Opportunity for older aspirated models to compete.

Classes will be split during presentation and awarded 1st;2nd and 3rd position trophies.
SS1 15sec and above
SS2 14 to 14.99sec
SS3 13 to 13.99sec

Entries are open for the October 5th/6th Mkhuze Airport drags. Both 1/4 mile and 800m.
