One week to go before the next event in the summer series and with about 5 weeks to Boxing Day this should not be missed.

WP Colours - - - Western Province Cycling Association is a member of the Cape Town Sports Council and therefore the only cycling body in the geopolitical area of the City of Cape Town that is allowed to award Western Province colours to those cyclist who fulfil the criteria for district colours.
If you attain any one of the following and you are a paid up member of a WP affiliated club.
1.National Road & TT championships - finish the road race or time trial and be placed in the first 6 places.
2.Western Cape Road & TT Championships - for senior categories (u23 and older) be placed first.
For youth categories (u19 and younger) be placed in the first three places.
3.Track - WC Champs - Youth (u11 - u19) place in the first 3 in an individual or madison event or 1st place in a team based event.
Seniors(u23 and older) - place first in an individual or madison or team event.
4.Track - Nationals Youth (u11 - u19) place in the first 3 in an individual or madison event or 1st place in a team based event.
Seniors(u23 and older) - place in the first 3 in an individual or madison event
Placed first in a team event.
Taking into account the above, if you have fulfilled the criteria please make contact with your club and / or WP Cycling as we are currently in the process identifying our WP Colours recipients in 2022 for an awards ceremony.

The Championships Organisation is looking forward to the 2023 UCI Masters Track Cycling World Championships. You will recall that we were scheduled to organise the 2020 event but had to pull the plug just after entries opened due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. With the 2021 and 2022 allocated to Los Angeles the UCI carried the organisation of the 2020 event forward to 2023 with agreed dates of Saturday, September 30th to Saturday, October 7th.
We are looking forward to being back in the Manchester Velodrome, Britain’s National Cycling Centre, which has been undergoing a major refurbishment this year with lots of upgrades taking place involving lighting, electronics, scoreboard, seating and ancillary facilities. Arrangements are currently in progress to bring back our wonderful team of officials and volunteers and for hotels and transport to support competitors from far and wide. Further details are attached.
