This post is a difficult one....I have been quiet the last few weeks, because my dearest mother passed away on 5 August. She was very sick, she walked a long and difficult road, but went peacefully. The Beginning....
When we opened Toys @ Pinehurst 4 years ago tomorrow, we never thought we would become such a loved store...
I would like to share our story to those of you who don't know it yet:
My brother in law works in Ndabeni, where a toy shop use to be, called The real toy company. The owner used to say to Andrew, if you ever want a retirement business, start a toy shop. Chris and Andrew (Twins) talked about opening a toy shop for a year and then one day....we saw this lot open and literally within 4 weeks we opened our doors!
I remember how I use to sit in Cafe de la Monte working off my laptop to find suppliers and credit apps open and order stock, all while very pregnant. We were suppose to start trading 9 July, so we got the whole family to assist us with pricing and unpacking and merchandising. The windows were wrapped at the time and I will never forget the day this lady knocking on the door, the 6th July, asking:"are you open yet?"...and with that, we were trading!
4 years on and I can honestly say that this shop is my passion...our customers have become family friends and our toys my most precious possession. I love the pregnant mommies coming in and after birth come to introduce their babies to us. I love it when customers come in and say:"I saw you on Facebook or our Whats app group!"
We are really trying to serve you, our most valued customer, because without you, we would need to close our doors!!
I have had the best time in my store and made countless memories, but one stands out....the day Addison started walking in my store.(see video)
