The loss of a Child-THAT'S HARD

Most of the time wen we loose sum1 we love THAT'S HARD
We hav to adjust to a different life that we don't want to live or understand - THAT'S HARD
We sumtimes have to assure ourselves that we have more to live for-THAT'S HARD
We don't speak abwt it becz after a yr or so ppl "think" we shud b in a better space - THAT'S HARD
We go about our day acting like the KFC sign we jus drove past doesn't remind us that a loved one loved the mash & gravy-THAT'S HARD
We visit their Graves & break down every time WE are there -THAT'S HARD
We try to please ppl by a acting like we've healed bt actually - IT'S STILL HARD
Our daily lives have gotten to a stage whr we accept.... "IT'S HARD"
We have begged & PLEADED with God but it's the HARDEST Task- IT'S HARD!!

Loosing loved ones is a heavy "Hard" we walk around with while nobody knows how we jus trying to survive daily.. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

To all our angels-we remember you daily even though IT'S HARD😇👼

We dedicate the month of October in remembrance of Baby Khloe Roberts who was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma on the 1st October 2019 and lost her battle on the 17th February 2020.

Mairah's Miracle

DAY 36 IN HOSPITAL

Today Mairah received chemo 3 / 5 and immunotherapy 2 / for the week.

Dr T came to see her this morning, as she has done for the last few days, including yesterday, and she remarked that the tumour in her mouth looked smaller.

Mairah didnt want to.be examined but incr under sedation Dr T could have a good look. She said that it is definitely smaller since Monday. The tumour markers in her urine are also on the decrease. Even the recovery room nurse, who also had Mairah on Monday, said she thought it looked smaller today.

My husband and I think so too and continue to be grateful to see the great works of the immunotherapy combined with the chemotherapy.

I am getting excited to see continued improvement and pray that all continues to go well for Mairah. Who I owe, she may be an outpatient soon and just in time to catch the last of warm days and try on her summer dresses for the first time.

She will have chemo for the rest of the week and the last immunotherapy of this cycle on Friday. The doctors are not sure if they will scan to see improvement after this round or the next. But until then, we are just happy to see a little bit of a miracle unfold each day.

IT GETS REALLY SCARY

Mairah found yesterday's live on my phone and she fell asleep watching it, whilst I lay next to her.

I noticed that in the live, I was really happy and right now, as I type this, I can't even remember why.

You see alot happened since then and that's just the reality of fighting for a life I guess.

Whilst Mairah was in the procedure room for her immunotherapy infusion, and the various medical personnel gathered around start instated to feel really afraid.

The lights were bright, the room was full, I was nervous about the infusion as I wouldnt be with her to hold her hand (thank you Dr T for stepping in on my behalf ❤).

The anaethetist came to speak to us and I guess I selectively only heard words such as ICU and lung collapse and ventilator.

He was just mentioning those words as precautions but for me, I guess they were "triggering" because, you see, I don't just hear them once or go through scary things once, I hear them all the time and go through the conversations and experiences all the time.

Once they were ready to start I kissed Mairah and was basically crying on the inside already. I managed to hold it together till my husband and I sat down for lunch and then I just burst out crying and that I want cancer to leave her alone.

I want it to go, and never come back. That's as simple a prayer as I can pray but I want it with every fibre of my being. I don't want come close to losing her all the time. I just want her to be healthy and happy and for this to be behind us. I want it so badly for my Mairah, I really do.
