Kedemit Coffee participated in Celebrating Global Entreprenurship Week at the US Embassy.
The event organized by CAWEE in collaboration with the US Embassy,an engaging event in which the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) program graduates exhibited their products in celebrating the Global Entrepreneurs Week at the US Embassy compound on November 17, 2023. The event featured products of 23 companies, covering diverse sectors. The AWE program is financially and technically supported by the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State and the US Embassy Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
During the event, His Excellency Mr. Ervin Massinga, Ambassador of the United States to Ethiopia, graced the occasion with his presence.
The event, beyond exhibiting products, served as a platform for meaningful connections, knowledge exchange, experience sharing, and useful engagements.

Kedemt Coffee participates in a mini exhibition at the high-level dinner that was organized by CAWEE's High Level Meeting with Former PM of Ethiopia.

Our CEO & Founder Dagmawit A. Abebe A. Abebe shared her experience in the private sector & pleaded with the stakeholders presented to focus and work on the mindset of women exporters to join the available online digital market places & thanks for all the ongoing support.

"CAWEE organized a high level dinner meeting focusing on the theme "Boosting Intra-African Trade: African Women Taking the Lead", August 26, 2023 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Addis Ababa, where its Champion in implementing the AfCFTA, Excellency Hailemariam Desalegn, former Prime Minister of Ethiopia, was the Chief Guest.

Present as panelists were Mme. Awa Ndiaye - UN Women Representative in Ethiopia, Liaison for the AUC & ECA, and Dr. Giuseppe Scuto - Program Manager, GIZ AU AfCFTA Support Office.

The Panelists explored the challenges that women exporters face, forwarded recommendations on how best women exporters need to be supported, and the need for joint partnerships among the concerned stakeholders to facilitate intra-African Trade, African women taking the lead."

Kedemit Coffee: the Aroma that Lingers!

Thousands of years ago in South Western region of Ethiopia in a small village called Mankira Coffee was started to be a regular drink after it was found by the goats of Kaldi, a young goat herd. Through time it reached in the hands of a long distance Merchants whom introduced Coffee to the rest of Ethiopia and the Arabian Peninsula. Not only Coffee started growing in most part of Ethiopia but also beautiful tradition of Coffee making and drinking flourished in all households of Ethiopia. Since then Coffee became a daily drink and part and parcel of any communal ceremonies.

If you go to every house hold in Ethiopia the tradition is still the same as our ancestors roast and brew it. Only a slight difference what accompanies it, a small snack (የቡና ቁርስ) to be eaten along with the Coffee.

This centuries old tradition is what we are inspired by and founded Kedemit Coffee which means in English Origin Coffee. We took every bit of the Traditional and Ethiopian way of Coffee processing and roasting and simplify it to fit the modern way of the current life, busy and full of running.
