Ta**ra Talks with Flo
Our first two foundational talks on kundalini and ta**ra have attracted a rapidly-growing circle of over 30 seekers. Having mapped out the terrain of kundalini awakening, the sacred light body and key practices designed to cultivate this energy, we are now ready to explore more practical work.

Kundalini is alive and kicking… now what?
In this talk, we explore side-effects that can arise when the sacred serpent stirs, and how we can deal with the fall-out.

Those who experience a kundalini awakening often find themselves in highly activated nervous system states where traces of trauma and our neurotic self-stories are animated and inflated by the powerful Shakti energy.

Despite the bliss and expansion of kundalini awakening, this can be challenging. The consequences for relationships, career, and parenting can be disruptive and debilitating.

In this talk, we combine ancient tantrik teachings and contemporary neuroscience to chart this tricky terrain and point out practical ways to navigate it more safely.

Join us for an evening of exploring Sensuality and Eros through the Advanced Couples Workshop – Sensual and Nuru Massages
We will guide you on how to dive into a truly sensual experience with your partner.
The techniques that will be covered are:
Sensual and Nuru Massages, this will be done through a live demo, where after you will have the opportunity to practice these techniques with your partner.
You can expect to leave with a renewed appreciation for the Sacred Touch.
What to expect:
First we will have a chat (+/- 30 mins) regarding the spiritual aspect of what we’re about to do as well as some material to take home to integrate later.
Then we will all disrobe to our own level of comfort for the Demo. I will give the Demo with model for the evening. That should also take around 30 mins.
Then we’ll pair the singles for the practical part.
For the practical, one partner will give and one will receive.
After 30–45 mins, we will rotate the roles and the giver will now become the receiver. Once we’re done. We will all sit for a bit to start the integration process if needed and meditate.
And then we will also do a quick Q&A if you have any questions. And that will conclude our evening.
What to bring for the workshop:
-Something to lay on (yoga mat or inflatable/camping mattress, your comfort, your choice)
– a bath towel or something to protect your mat (Nuru Gel can get quite messy) and wipe yourself down once we’re done.
– a sarong to cover yourself during the Demo.
– hydration (water/ fruit juice/ tea…please no booze)
-something to nibble on if you need (dried fruits is a good option)

Interesting article this morning on my feed... Resonated deeply. All of us seekers out there often have misconceptions about Ta**ra.
I just realised, it's not what you do, but who you do it with that really matters.
Here goes:
Ta**ra is not love.
I think we can get caught up in thinking breath and eye gazing and touch with presence equates a deep level of love. Science tells us that repeating these actions (specifically eye gazing) literally creates a sensation of falling in love over time. But something is missing. Energetic s*x and or**sm that is felt in every part of the body are beautiful, but do not promise that love is present.
I think that is why there can be a deep core loneliness that is hard to quell in us who regularly practice ta**ra or sacred s*x with many partners: ta**ra does not prepare us for lasting love. It creates sensation, and hunger, it wakes us up, connects us to our animal and soul. It fuels creativity and energy. But does not necessarily teach us how to be all in and let someone be all in for us.
At the end of the day sacred s*x is just part of the puzzle. It is not the puzzle in itself.
I think we are feeding a void with more void when we turn to sacred s*x to get all of our needs met. Letting it be the solution to our desire to be radically loved.
Ta**ra is a way to communicate love, but it is also a smoke screen. It is a way to deepen a connection between lovers and it can also be a way to distract us. Like all good things can do.
I am not impressed by s*x that can last for 8 hours. Or s*x that connects me to myself. Or s*x that results in a high for days. I am more impressed by how lovers take care of each other after the hit of brain chemicals subsides, the community that is built with love, the vulnerability of sharing deep needs and fears, the owning and cleaning up of messes made, the inquiry into eachothers’ passions, the creating of connection and letting a relationship change when s*x no longer feels appropriate.
I am shortchanging myself if I let those things slide and instead focus on the s*x alone.
I think communicating needs and boundaries around s*x is important, but a focus there without remembering the depth of a human outside of the bedroom can limit and even suffocate intimacy. Can put pressure on both people to perform a role instead of show up fully as themselves.
The moments in my life that breathe life into my s*x are the words and conversation shared outside of s*x.
Listening to a lover talk about his father and feeling his heart, laughing with my husband right before he enters me, giving my love permission to not impress me with s*x and just be with me. These are the moments that I carry. The things I am truly proud of. One might argue that they are all intricate parts to sacred s*x or ta**ra, yet building actual relationship seems to be missing from the empowered conversation about s*x we are having.
I know what a lover is and I can do that. But to hold the heart of a man, to be given that honor, that demands a fullness of my being that I must deepen everyday. Demands that my words match my actions so I need to know who I am. Demands I see with my soul, speak my truth, touch with my heart. Be willing to crawl through the depths of someone’s dark alongside of them until they remember again who they are.
This love, when I really feel it, makes me feel undone and messy. I am not a seductress here adding to my numbers of lovers on the daily, I am not impressive or s*xy declaring the perfect formula to make me or**sm. I am on my knees. Waiting to be met in being this undone and rejoicing over the moments that my soul truly sees the soul of another.
May we not just have lovers but create partners that will laugh with us as our bodies fall apart. Who will take care of us when we are sick. Who we are damn proud to declare loudly that we love and are loved by. Let that be what fuels us. That is really the only thing that makes us alive anyway.

I was asked by friends to write an article on something close to my heart for their private group page.
I thought I'd share that with you as well.
Here goes...

Couple Dynamics: Sacred S*xuality and Recreational S*x

Can we have our cake and eat it?

I personally believe we can.

I’ll argue as to why I feel so strongly about that.

Feel free to comment on here, or via DM if you prefer, and share why you might think otherwise, or what your take on it is.

The s*xual relationship, within the general relationship agreement between two people, is generally widely accepted to be both Sacred and unique.

Hetero-normativity demands it, society demands it.

Mostly because of the chemical aspect and impact of love & dopamine on the brain, we love, and often need, that feeling, that sensation.

This sensation is a drug so powerful that it will mask many other aspects of relationships that might not be working as they should and make us ignore red flags, but that’s another discussion.

But Sacred S*xuality shouldn’t be only that.

And I don’t negate the sacred aspect of Love between two people. It is Sacred and I embrace it, but not just it.

There is a Ta***ic saying that tells us: when everything is sacred, nothing is.

S*xuality should also be made fun and recreational.

Sacred S*xuality, if not used often enough in conjunction with Pure Pleasure-Based S*xuality (PPBS), will often lead to a diminishing return over an extended period of time.

This happen for various reasons, but the biggest cause of downturn is today’s living environment, conditions and pressures. Pressure to perform, pressure to be seen as successful, pressure to generate self-worthiness… Pressure, pressure, pressure…no time to breathe deeply and feel.

PPBS should be part of every couple’s toolkit, whether in an open-relationship or not.

There is a place and space for the Sacred to meet with the profane.

There is a place for tender love, Sacred S*xuality and Connection between partners, but there should also be a space for fun, experiences, discoveries, growth, not necessarily with your partner, but always within your Agreement with her/him.

The Agreement, in itself, is a Sacred Covenant between partners that shouldn’t be broken.

These two spaces must co-exist for they are two sides of the same coin.

They are both the flower and the water needed to thrive, not just exist.

For this to happen successfully, we need to touch briefly on compersion and its opposite, jealousy.

These are aspects of ourselves that need to be discussed and worked on before-hand, before starting to explore.

And if they arise again at a later stage, as they probably will, it is okay to pause what you’re doing and go work on them again…as many times as needed until you’re both comfortable with what you’re doing.

Once that is done, you will most definitely enjoy the fun part just as much as the Sacred one.

It will also bring peace of mind, for our inquisitive minds, about what our partners are feeling/thinking as you will be sharing all aspects of your s*xuality together.

The being together and sharing of these experiences will also bring openness and trust between you, because you will, maybe for the first time, see and feel what really excites/trigger your partner.

Yes, it will also reveal vulnerabilities, and you need to be ready for that, from both of you.

But isn’t that what true love is, being able to be vulnerable together and be there for each other?

Today, we celebrate Beltane in the Northern Hemisphere, while we celebrate Samhain here in the Southern one... It symbolises the passage of seasons as we celebrate Winter's arrival.
Yes, I know, Winter is coming, and with it a deepening of the shadows and darkness (and I'm not just talking about Eish-kom). The days will be much shorter and the nights will spread out.
It is still a time to rejoice that we will go into introspection and back to ourselves. But it' also time for rich warm food shared with your tribe.
Hibernation tends itself to deep thoughts and deep conversations around the fire.
It is also a cruel time for depression, sadness and anxiety to rise up unchecked... Be a real friend and check up on your friends regularly during this trying period.
And most of all, don't forget to take care of yourself and do all these things that you postponed because the weather was nice and you chased the sunrays.
