George Diocese Environment Sustainable Development Committee with Bishop Edwin Pockpass and the Chaplain Rev. Maria Jacobs at their quarterly meeting held at the Church of the Resurrection Sedgefield.

The Parish of St. Andrew's Riversdale, in celebrated their centenary on July 2024. They tried to make their celebrations plastic free to support the Provincial call for July and to make the community aware of the 3R's - Reduce, Re-use and Recycle. The Rector, seen on the truck, is Reverend Canon Darian Petersen.

🌳 This week marks the second anniversary of The Communion Forest. Launched on 3rd August 2022, during The Lambeth Conference, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby described it as “a symbol and an act of hope, and something we can do together as we journey on from the Lambeth Conference.”

Since its launch, the Communion Forest has inspired numerous environmental initiatives across the global Anglican Communion, from Australia to Zimbabwe, Canada to Brazil, and beyond.

Each project contributes to our shared mission of the Communion Forest, which is to significantly increase Anglican tree growing and ecosystem conservation, protection and restoration across the world and deepen care for creation within the life of the Church.

The Parish of St. Andrew's the Fisherman, Riversdale held their Centenary Thanksgiving service on Sunday, 28th July. This was preceeded with a Parade, sports day and Gala Evening. They also acknowledge all those who have served the Parish over the years. Many thanks also to the spouses for their support.
