Last wedding of my career as wedding photographer. Today someone told me a season in your life lasts for 7 years. Well, this one lasted for two seasons in my life. 14 years being a photographer as a side hustle.

I am grateful for the times I had with all the brides and grooms, spending time with them on their day and making their memories live forever in photos. Will I miss it...I don't know. But I will be forever grateful for living out that passion.

I have to emphasize the importance of backing up your photos to the cloud. You cannot expect your photographer to keep backups of your photos/videos indefinitely. The responsibility rests on you to make sure your images/videos are stored somewhere in the cloud. Don't download it to your phone or laptop or a memory stick. It won't be safe. I highly recommend Google Drive.

Another wedding done and dusted. This was 11 hours on my feet...but totally worth it. Thanks to Richard and Megan for this awesome opportunity to photograph this amazing wedding of theirs. How does a Scottish/Afrikaans wedding sound to you? Well that is exactly what this was. And man can Richard play the bagpipes. I was amazed at what these two managed to accomplish.
Colnera Estate did a great job hosting this wedding. Great food and great vibe. Thanks to God for the awesome weather He provided. 🙏

I feel...when you spend more than 8 hours with a couple on their special day...it is more than just business. It starts feeling like you are photographing friends. Having patience and an attitude of gratitude and understanding as a photographer, makes the couple's wedding day even more special. Don't be arrogant, don't be impatient. Treat everyone with love. You will walk away smiling and feeling truly satisfied. I enjoyed photographing this intimate wedding so much today.
