Mathew 16v13 to 19.
The bible records the time when Jesus came to a place known as Caeserea Phillipi with His disciples, as He approaches people he turned to His own and asked a very provocative question to His own camp. WHO DO PEOPLE SAY THE SON OF MAN IS? The answe was expected to differ from one person to another hence the answers recorded. Some says you are a prophet, some says you are Elijah etc, but he redirected the question back to them. WHO DO YOU SAY I AM? WHAT ABOUT YOU? Simon answered, You are the Messiah, the son of the loving God. He told him blessed are you Peter bcs there is no book,nor teachings by any person which has revealed this to you except by the Holly Spirit.

The benefit of getting the revelation 1st.

In this passage Simon found favor from God. His name alone Simon meaning a reed, which have no direction, something which can not be trusted and it is weak. He was walking with Jesus with a name which represented weakness until he catched the revelation. The minute he find out, he was promoted to a Rock. His name was changed to Peter, finding the revelation made Simon to have a name changed, he started to be a center part of the ministry. Jesus says to him, on this rock i will build my church, .

It is when you come in contact with Jesus when you become a strong thing.

Prayer.
Jesus this afternoon i pray that you help me find the revelation about you so that i can be a strong Christian, in Jesus name Amen.
