The second significant change that has been received from the regulators is regarding CRYPTO CURRENCY!

In general notice 1350 of 2022, effective as of 19 October 2022, the FSCA has formally declared a crypto asset as a financial product under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 2002.

Compliance is forever changing and moving forward with the times and this following month, there are two significant changes coming in from the regulators!

After consulting with the FIC, the Minister of Finance approved the revision of the CTR threshold from the current threshold of R25 000 to R50 000.
Regarding the revised threshold, accountable and reporting institutions will be required to report any cash transactions of R50 000 and above to the FIC.
The new threshold will be effective 14 November 2022
