This week Future Perfect explores something I have only touched on in previous programs, as my main interest is to interest you in your brain, but science is showing that it is not possible to discuss the brain without discussing the symbiotic relationship it has with the gut microbiome. I would like to contend that our relationship with our gut, and the contents thereof, is one of deep denial and avoidance, and is therefore highly dysfunctional. In future I believe this will be one of the biggest mental shifts the modern brain will have to make.
