This past week has been a busy one but one of the highlights was getting the opportunity to weld an aluminium "tub" (which is a layman's terms for a wood chip trailer). These seams had been caused by stress cracks due to the huge tonnage carried in these tubs. All the old manufacturing weld had to be v-cut out and welded over with solid thick seams at a higher frequency to prevent it happening again. Fabriweld is ready for any specialised welding needed. When the fabricators have fun with a project - a barge for a pump scheme was needed and was literally put to the test in the nearby pool! "Boys will be boys!" Fabriweld makes a plan to stand above the rest!

The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business.

Running a business is really hard.

What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid-back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

Many people will expect discounts and people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store or company.

You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work-life balance.

You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All whilst being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend...
There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5-10 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed.

It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially the past couple of years when so much has been out of our control.

Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives.

Freestanding fire brazier built as a custom job for family members. Unique and functional!

Lock up protection cage built for Greenhill Lab hazard material bins. Everyone's protected now (humans and monkeys) because these bins are locked up tight!

Super pleased with this build....the darker metal foot was the original fireplace foot and we built another new identical foot for the fireplace from nothingness (the lighter coloured metal foot)! Now the fireplace has four feet and is complete!

Custom made double axle trailer that was rebuilt from scratch. Only things that were reused from original trailer was the toe hitch, mud flaps and axles. The rest is brand new material! Thanks to Trevor for being so patient with this build! We are so grateful for his business! We hope his bee business benefits from this new trailer!

Food tray rails for Epworth's canteen. Food grade stainless steel used. Wasn't the easiest job but finally got it done and pleased with the outcome.

6m timber trailer that was extended to accommodate 8m timber logs in Tweedie. Kushie watching how it's done and getting his time in on the welding project. We appreciate how the local community has supported our business.

Borehole pipe done at VCC. Very much a custom job because the borehole was sunk in the foundation of the house which was below the bedroom! Owners still needed access to the borehole so a special angled pipe was welded into place so access could be gained from outside.

Mild steel balustrade done for Greenhill Lab. Simple but effective and functional

Another pump house done from scratch but this time in Harding. Definitely getting mileage in for these projects! Respect to farmers who live so far out in the rural areas.

Being a family man myself it was so important for me to do this specific welding job....repairing an aluminium twin pram for a mother and her children so she can get some exercise (my wife tells me she would have been miserable if she hadn't exercised after each of our sons were born!)

Newcastle pump house completed! Super satisfying to see how it was enhanced by the red paint (reason for red paint was because it was a firefighter pumphouse!)
