Her multi-disciplinary approach combines painterly techniques with modern themes and pop culture and has been recognised by the likes of i-D, ArtThrob, and Latitudes

Neil Büchner Jr caught up with her to discuss her creative output, how her childhood has shaped her style and discover what she’s been up to since leaving South Africa.

In our constant pursuit to shine light on incredible artists as well as expand our community, we are lucky to collab with for an apparel and accessories collection, in her renowned whimsical and youthful style.

This drop comes with something extra special, in the form of an open launch event to celebrate the new collection and which will see the first gallery exhibition in our new Cape Town store. The night will be accompanied by some special edition café snacks to really welcome in the release, and as an ode to MOTEL’s playful spirit.

NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas Superstar

As NEIGHBORHOOD and adidas reach the two decade mark of their partnership, they have turned back time to pay homage to where it all began. Back in 2005, the two collaborated on the adidas Superstar in celebration of the silhouette’s 35th anniversary and now its back.

This Superstar silhouette boasts a black upper with “NEIGBORHOOD” embellishment above the tonal Three Stripes, as well as the brand’s skull and sword logo at the heel. Black also dresses the shell toe, all atop an aged off-white sole.

Paris Fashion Week 2024 officially kicks off this weekend, welcoming in a new generation of talents spanning from across the globe, many of whom will be having their debut shows this month.

Stepney Workers Club ‘OSIER S-STRIKE’

This silhouette is S.W.C new every day runner, inspired by the simplicity and versatility of ‘70s running design. Movement is inextricably linked to maintaining a positive and balanced state of mind and this drop celebrates movements in the mundane.

Pairing suedes with early-tech nylons and exposed padding. Underfoot, Osier S-Strike has an unexpected take on conventional ‘70s runners with the use of a lightweight technical 3-part sole unit.

This past Thursday, was transformed into an unconventional gallery to celebrate local street art, hip hop, dance and of course, community. The ‘Nothing Nice’ exhinbition, curated by .barbie and , was truly a coming together of people and culture in a fun and enriching way.

The beauty and power of street art was showcased in an extremely unique way with a make-shift graffiti wall made out of plastic wrap and a canvas on the dancefloor for attendees to create their own art. The soundtrack to the night was played by an incredible array of Dj’s, accompanied by some incredible hip hop dancers who performed on the customized wooden floor. The space was absolutely buzzing, enhancing the artwork showcased by the six featured artists.

Dover Street Market x Nike Vomero 5 SP

Dover Street Market definitely has an eye for elevated streetwear, and so it only made sense for them to join in on Nike’s growing Vomero offering. Just like the DSM Samba which dropped a few weeks ago, this interpretation of the Vomero has a high-fashion feel through its use of minimalist design.

The mixed material upper sees the mesh, cage and lace unit take an all-black makeover completely with reflective black panelling to tie it all together. The look is complete with a subtle yet impactful DSM branding on the tongue.

This month our Featured Designer booth welcomes in a piece of Cape Town streetwear heritage, . Started in 2013, the vision for the brand to “one day have a bunch of different facets” has undoubtedly come into fruition and shows no sign of stopping.

Our Cape Town store will be stocked with the latest collection from Sol-Sol, alongside their key items like caps, tees and hoodies. Each piece stays true to the brands skate and surfing influence, striking a balance between understated outerwear and bolder graphics; with the brand’s signature typographic scrawled in an OG tag style.
