There will be a demonstration outside Rand Water entrances at 13:30 to demand answers from the execs regarding the lack of water supply that we are currently, and have been experiencing for 5 DAYS!!!!

Bring signs! Let’s them know how you feel! We have had enough!

JHB Power Crisis
Good day Residents,
Today we were met with the devastating news that City Power has terminated all contractors as of last night.
This will result in the severe worsening of their already poor service and response.
LAG will do all that we can to assist and strongly implore all those without power to reach out onto the Linmeyer LAG groups to ask fellow residents for assistance.
Residents who are fortunate enough to not be subjected to powerless homes, please in the spirit of good neighbourliness and community that we holds our suburb together offer any assistance to fellow residents who may be in need.
We are on our own until the Mayor and City Power can resolve this inhumane and devastating mess.
Please contact the control room should you require anything further.
We are working with our councillor to consider our options as well as to provide assistance to those in need.
FADT are engaged regarding the issues and relevant security implications and will do all that they can to mitigate them.
Thank you

Residents meeting Summary
Good morning Residents,
Thank you to all who attended the meeting last night. Detailed minutes will be sent out in the next few days.
In summary
- LAG no longer endorses National security and fire due to poor performance and the lack of support and back up to the suburb
- LAG has partnered with Fidelity ADT.
- Fidelity ADT will provide an improved service to what National was offering including:
- A dedicated vehicle to Linmeyer and auto dispatch for quicker response times
- WhatsApp groups monitoring
- Investment and installation of additional camera systems and LPR into Linmeyer
- Significant rebates to the community which will further improve the security of the suburb
- Flat rate of R355+vat per household.Free link up and free radio change
- Advice on how to cancel your current contract with National / any other service provider – only you as a customer can cancel your contract with current service provider
-Fidelity ADT will take over night shift guarding as of 1 May 2023
- Fidelity ADT will undertake stricter access control between the hours of 22:00-05:00.
-The contributions to LAG have SIGNIFICANTLY increased, but are not yet at the point where we can afford 24hr guarding again.
-Household signs for contributors will be ready soon.
-Windscreen LAG stickers will be ready soon
It is of the utmost importance that the linmeyer community all use the same service supplier (Fidelity ADT). Using different security companies will fragment the community and a security company can only invest into a community which fully supports them. We have to protect our suburb using one service provider who is held accountable for service levels to the community, and is sustainable.
Thanks to all who attended the positive meeting last night, we are very proud of our progress and now urge all residents to sign with Fidelity ADT as a matter of urgency.
Please message the control room to schedule an appointment with a Fidelity ADT representative. Fidelity ADT reps will also be calling on houses for your convenience.
Let’s Love Linmeyer

- Contributions amount to R39,380 (123 contributors out of 685 households (18%))
- 82% of residents are not contributing.
- Deficit leads to debt growing every month.

*Drinking in Public Arrests*
A joint operation was held today by CPF (Community policing forum), SAPS and National Security and Fire to address the drinking in public bylaw violations that occur consistently in the park near the Linmeyer bakery.
Multiple arrests were made and the suspects have been taken to Moffatview police station and are being processed.
The joint operation is only the beginning of a continuous remediation strategy that all present parties have committed too in order to ensure that we end this once and for all.
LAG hopes that this show of force and consequence sends a clear message to all who consistently drink in public and tarnish the appearance of our suburb.
Thank you to all who assisted us in our mission to improve our beloved suburb.

Wanted vehicle and suspects apprehended
We are happy to report that this morning, our LPR (License plate recognition) cameras at Johan Meyer recognised a vehicle wanted for serious crime passing through our suburb.
Our LPR cameras scan every license plate entering or exiting our suburb and checks them against the SAPS database of wanted vehicles.
The vehicle was reported to SAPS, and with the assistance of our Security provider was pulled over, resulting in the suspects getting arrested and the vehicle getting impounded pending investigation.
Thank you too,

*REPORT ON FADT OPERATION OVER LINMEYER*
Residents probably noted the Fidelity ADT helicopter involved in an operation over Linmeyer, Meyers Farm, Linridge and the Bassonia Koppie area this afternoon.
It has been confirmed that a message was received on another group for assistance from Fidelity ADT as another security company was chasing suspects from Jakkalsbessie street in Bassonia who broke into a house. They were moving towards the Bassonia Koppie.
FADT Special Intervention Unit members immediately informed the estates to be on the lookout and while doing so FADT reaction and special intervention units proceeded from different directions to assist and block off escape routes. The FADT Chopper also immediately proceeded to assist.
With the help of the FADT Chopper and FADT members on the ground 1 suspect was caught in the veld on the fringe of Linmeyer and detained.
The suspect was handed over to Mondeor SAPS for further investigation.

*Dog rescued*
This evening our residents were alerted that a dog had fallen down a drain on a property within the suburb.
Urgent help was requested to assist in digging up the drain and providing light, tools and manpower to successfully save the dog.
Using the LAG platforms we were quickly able to mobilise an astounding amount of residents who all admirably responded ready to climb in and save the poor puppy.
A very proud moment for linmeyer residents seeing each other all come out to assist one of our own in their time of need.
The dog was safely removed from the drain to his ecstatic owners.
Well done linmeyer community ❤️❤️
