The symbolism of the Crusader Cross or "five-fold cross" is variously given as the Five Wounds of Christ, Christ and the four evangelists, or Christ and the four quarters of the world. Similar cross designs on the obverse of coins go back to at least the Ango-Saxon period. The earliest specific Christian references to archangels are in the late 5th to early 6th century: Pseudo-Dionysius gives them as Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Cameal, Jophiel and Zadkiel.

The Light of Jerusalem anointing oil is based on Exodus 30 and scented with Frankincense, Myrrh, cinnamon, cassia and other flowers from the Holy Land. Frankincense has been used in religious and spiritual rituals for thousands of years and is a symbol of holiness and righteousness. In Christian symbolism, Frankincense represents Jesus’s sacrifice and Myrrh represents his death. Both Frankincense and Myrrh were also two of the gifts offered by the Three Wise Men to Baby Jesus.
Anointing oil can be used for spiritual cleansing and healing in an act of consecration and dedication and a setting apart for a special purpose in God’s Kingdom.

The Three Wise Men came from the East (following the Bethlehem Star) bearing the gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to visit Baby Jesus. The Star of Bethlehem was a miraculous sign that marked the birth of Christ and inspired the Three Wise Men to travel to Jerusalem to visit the new born king.
