The National Youth Development Initiative (NYDI) is a Non-Profit Organisation that was established in 2016 with the main purpose of assisting youth from disadvantaged communities in South Africa to reach their true potential in all aspects of their lives.

In an effort to develop future leaders, we work with a group of learners from Soweto - Mokgome High School and Thutolore High School respectively. Our learners are empowered to address challenges on the ground.

With this drive we are constantly changing mindset of a black child that wakes up and immediately thinks there's no hope, we are here for that.

This past weekend, we had an amazing breakthrough, identifying the common challenges the youth is facing, with the safe space we've created we had a very positive engagement and outcome.
With the assistance from a friend of the NYDI, an experienced Social Worker, participating in his own capacity Mr Thabelo Manebaneba as well as an alumnus of the NYDI, Ms Bongeka Mahlengwa, we are able to steer this ship in the right destination.

As an NPO, we encounter challenges when the need to facilitate some of the desirable aspects to achieve certain objectives, but we try our level best with limited resources.

1. White.
