Democratized Coaching!

I mention the term and some people and companies know immediately what I am talking about and many do not. in short, democratizing coaching extends the benefits of coaching, normally reserved for senior management, C-suite, and executives, to a broader audience.

The results - A more engaged workforce! A more satisfied workforce! A more self-aware workforce! A better workforce!

Immediately comments like, "coaching is too expensive" and "coaching is only effective over a long period in a one-on-one, face-to-face environment" pop up. The truth is that there are alternatives that reduce per-person costs and allow coaches to focus the human interaction on what is really needed. Companies should be saying that they are concerned over mass resignations and a disengaged workforce.

Randstad RiseSmart’s research puts the desire for job change in the USA as high as 93%. Breaking down those figures, the research shows that "13% are ready to jump into a new job, 35% are on the lookout, and another 45% are open to possibilities. Only 7% say they will stay put in their current position, no matter what. That kind of turnover could be devastating, especially in the U.S. labor market with more than 10 million unfilled jobs."

South Africa, where I live and service a large proportion of my clients is already in this crisis. Statistics presented by Professor Haroon Bhorat at a recent conference that I attended indicate that while 50% of the eligible workforce in South Africa is employed formally, only 16% are informally employed or running SMEs and a staggering 34% are unemployed. At the same conference, Darren Graham mentioned that the vast majority of the workforce is seriously disengaged.

Imagine the impact of a mass resignation from formal employment in South Africa or even worse - an even more disengaged and unproductive workforce that remains in the formal sector!

This is where democratized, scalable coaching solutions play a crucial role! Following on from the research from Randstad Risesmart, "the majority ― 87% ― would be perfectly happy to find an opportunity with their current organization. This wish is even stronger among younger workers, with 100% of Gen Z and 93% of young Millennials expressing a preference for internal mobility. Employees are only leaving their current place of employment when they sense no possibility of internal movement."

This is an even greater cause to democratize coaching and retain employees. Platforms like ElevatePro from AGWInsights LLC are going a long way to do this, providing individual and team insights that are accurate and immediately implementable.

Lately, I have heard so many fearful comments that technology advancements will be the cause of job shedding. This is a clear case of technology reducing costs and helping to retain or redeploy employees for the betterment of everyone!

These are the results of a recent LinkedIn we posted, as these are the 3 main issues that we have encountered with clients and prospective clients and really covers three different stages with the L&D process. Some companies are not sure where to start, some have identified the solution but for whatever reason struggle to find the right provider to take on the work and then there are some that have a provider that is actually not meeting all the needs of their client and helping them with the process.
