Jungle Tots Dainfern Valley

We have started learning all about Spring!! 🌷🌻🌷🌻
We’ve decorated our Spring tree with pink blossoms, decorated a paper plate and turned it into a flower, we’ve made handprint leaves and we learning all about the different colours of our flowers! Ending off the week with a fabulous Spring picnic 🌷🌻🌷🌻

Our last week of term we had a Teddy Bears picnic! Hope everyone is having a great holiday. We are missing our little bears 🐻🐻🐻

We’ve been learning all about being in the kitchen! Making “pizza” with our dough was great fun! We’ve been experimenting with different sensory textures whilst enjoying our imagery kitchen time!! 👨‍🍳🧑‍🍳👩‍🍳

Spent the week learning about shopping and ended with a real shopping experience! 🤩🤩🤩

We have been learning all about the animals that live on the farm! From the pig, to the sheep, to the horses, the ducks, the chickens and finally the cows. We know all the sounds the farm animal make and we had a busy day working at the farm and got to “milk” the cows! 🦆🐮🐷🐽🐴🐓

Last week was so much fun learning about Dinosaurs 🦕 🦖 and then having our faces painted and pretending to be real dinosaurs!! We did dinosaur foot print stamping, made dinosaur masks, decorated a dinosaur park and made a dinosaur paper plate craft. All our perceptual games and activities involved dinosaurs!

We have been busy bees 🐝 at Jungletots, Dainfern Valley. We have been learning “All about Insects.” We now know bees 🐝 🐝 give us honey and we made bee paper plate crafts and bee crowns and buzzed around the garden. We learnt that a caterpillar 🐛 turns into a butterfly and made finger printed butterflies 🦋 🦋. The ladybugs 🐞 🐞were exciting to learn about and we also made a paper plate ladybug and a ladybug crown. We decorated our own insect gardens with butterfly, bee, ladybug and caterpillar stickers. We ended our theme with an Insect dress up day and had an insect feast!!

We’ve returned from our Easter break and we learning all about Autimn focusing on the Autumn colours being red, brown, yellow and orange. We made a finger painting Autumn tree, fun sponging painting with Autumn colours, making beautiful luck and stick Saturn leaves and finally making our own Autumn crowns using real Autumn 🍂 leaves. We had fun playing and throwing the leaves around the garden.

A week of easter fun! 🐰🐰🐰

Castles, Kings and Queens was our theme for the week. We built castles with blocks, we decorated a castle, made our own special crowns, made a king or queen paper plate craft and decorated a princess dress or Kings cloak. The highlight was our Royal Affair at the castle. It was a dress up day and we had the most beautiful kings and queens attended the special function and the best was having a ride in the royal carriage. 👑

We have finished learning about our four primary colours: blue, red, green and yellow. We made yellow crowns, coloured a duck yellow, made a yellow sunflower, iced Marie biscuits with yellow icing and decorated our biscuits with yellow smarties. Lots of fun was had playing with yellow play dough, yellow balloons and our plastic yellow ducks.

We learnt all about the colour green. Making a green collage, to free painting with green paint, making a green paper plate fish were some of our art activities for the week. We played with green “frogs”, we played with green rice and we played with green playdough. We all now know the colour green!

Our theme for the week was: “ Love is Everywhere” and we concentrated on the colour red and the shape heart. We did a lick and stick heart activity, made a heart puppet and did lots of painting with red paint. We received Valentines post which was super exciting. On Valentine’s Day, our teachers surprised us with a chocolate lolly and some bubbles. Our highlight for the week was our valentines tea party with our special moms who were gifted with their own heart magnet and some chocolate treats!! 🥰😍🌹💕

This week we went to the moon!! We decorated a rocket, we became astronauts and had lots of fun looking for rockets 🚀 in space.

This week we are learning all about the colour blue! We experienced lots of different textures such as shaving cream, rolling blue playdough, watching blue dinosaurs melt in ice and blue water play! We spent time learning about small, medium and big objects and practiced classifying objects by size. Our hand eye coordination activities included lacing, fishing and shape buckets. We had lots of fun with blue balloons. For art we took home a blue collage of pictures, a lick and stick blue teddy bear, free painting with blue paint and blue stamping. 🔵🔷🟦

We are back into the swing of things, and having the best start to 2024! Welcome to all your new faces. We kicked off the year learning all about me.

The children thoroughly enjoyed learning all about dinosaurs. They dug for dinosaurs in the different sensory bins, did dinosaur footprint stamping, made a dinosaur paper plate craft, had their faces painted as dinosaurs and made dinosaur masks. Another fun filled week at Jungle Tots Dainfern Valley.

The children enjoyed a week of pirate fun. Besides completing their day pirate perceptual activities, they made a pirate paper plate craft, their own treasure map, their own treasure chest with real treasure and a pirate puzzle to glue. The real fun was at Pirate land where they played with all the pirate ships and pirate costumes enjoying the different sensory textures too. We had a real pirate party on Thursday which the kids loved!! 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

Last weeks fun learning all about the season Summer. The children did a summer collage, made a Mr Sun paper plate, made a funky summer cap, did a follow the instructions pasting ice-cream activity and finished the week off enjoying an ice-cream with sprinkles. 🌞🌞🌞🍦🍦🍦
