Ubuntu Medical Supplies

Welcome once again to our weekly Angel profile. This week the focus is on a small organisation called Ubuntu Medical Supplies, based in Weltevreden Park.

One of the important requirements under the Department of Health for an EMS service is the annual servicing and calibration of all our electronic equipment, from ECG monitors and defibrillators to suction devices we make use of on the road. These are extremely sensitive devices and are often critical to the successful outcome of a medical emergency. Maintenance of this equipment is a significant expense to any organisation, and without their support, we would not be in a position to deliver the services we do to the community.

Leroy Williams, the owner of Ubuntu Medical, looks after our equipment, calibrates it, services and repairs it as necessary. He also assists us with replacement equipment, going out of his way to find equipment that’s cost effective and fit for purpose. Ubuntu Medical works tirelessly in the background, ensuring that when we need to use a piece of equipment, it works as it should, every time.

Our medics may be on the front lines, but those supporting us from behind are just as critical and deserve our gratitude, because they too make a difference to the lives we touch.
