Paintsmiths' colour expert advises that it is all about balancing soft and warm colours to give a cozy feel to the space. Starting with a white background ('Arniston White') and add layers of elements in other soft colours, like beiges ('Daybed'), terracotta ('Leather back'), warm grays ('H**p'). You can now add a pop of colour, for example choosing yellows, greens, blues, burgundy.

Claire Bond was in the paint contracting world for 20 years before going into corporate where she managed the Plascon Spaces Showroom at Design Quarter in Fourways from 2005-2010 as well as appearing on many DIY and design TV shows.
Her passion is colour and she will be hosting a talk on Colour and trends at Artistic Expression on Thursday the 25th at 10am.

There are a few manufacturers of concrete floor finishes in South Africa but a successful floor depends on some key issues.
1. The substrate to which the flooring system is being applied has been laid to a standard building specification.
2. There is no water or damp ingress.
3. The site is under control of the applicator for the full duration of the preparation, application and curing process.
4. The specified system is laid according to the manufacturers specification.
A contractor / applicator of flooring products should always do a site inspection prior to providing a quote.
