Instead, this ancient beer style uses a mixture of herbs and spices such as juniper berries, ginger, and heather for flavouring and preservation. Before hops became the standard, gruit was a popular choice among brewers in medieval Europe. Today, some craft breweries are reviving this historical brewing method to create unique and aromatic beers. 🌿🍺

... India Pale Ale (IPA) was originally brewed in England for export to British troops stationed in India. To preserve the beer during the long sea voyage 🚢, brewers added extra hops, which are natural preservatives. This resulted in the distinctive hoppy flavor IPAs are known for today. 🍻
