⚠️‼️🚨🐈‍⬛𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗦𝗢𝗥 𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟𝗦 𝗧𝗡𝗥 𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝟯🐈🚨‼️⚠️

We urgently need your help to TNR 12 feral cats in Windsor on Sunday the 28th of July 2024 at Vito Animal Clinic. 🙏🐈‍⬛🐾

If you've been following our page you will know that since we started with the Windsor Ferals project on 16 June 2024 we have assisted 28 cats already. 🥳🥳🥳 THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to those vet bills and allowed our first two rounds to be a huge success. 💓💙💜🐾💫

Our goal this weekend is to assist another 12 more to reach a total of 40 by the end of this month. 🙏🙌Lanseria Ferals have been assisting Windsor Ferals with food donations this year however they have had no available funds to support their TNR efforts. 💔😥😿 Lanseria Ferals and Northgate Ferals will be assisting Windsor Ferals together again. ❤️😻❤️

Your support enables us to carry out crucial initiatives that have a lasting impact on the welfare of these animals. Sterilization is one of the most effective ways to control and stabilize the feral cat population, which helps reduce the number of homeless cats in our community and alleviate the strain on the already overcrowded shelters.

Together with our volunteers our mission for this month is to help stabilize the colony numbers so that they are manageable for the feeders to look after and feed. 🐾🐈🐈‍⬛

Please help us raise an estimated R5000 to help TNR 12 feral cats at Windsor. Every donation, no matter the size, is always appreciated. 🙏😻💝

🐈WE NEED YOUR HELP 🙏🏻 to support these adorable kittens that were recently rescued from a complex in Northriding .

😻These little furballs have been dewormed and given a clean bill of health, but they're still too young for their spay/neuter surgeries and have been placed in foster care until they are old enough to rehome.

The adult cats have been trapped , neutered and returned ( TNR) and will continue to be cared for by the complex residents.😺

As a soon to be registered, non-profit organisation, dedicated to animal welfare, we rely on the kindness of our community to cover veterinary expenses.🐱

💕 Your sponsorship can make a real difference in their lives! Every donation, no matter how small, goes directly towards their medical care and food costs and helps us continue our mission of giving these furry friends a second chance at a happy, healthy life. 🐈

Our amazing community vet will sterilise for as little as R350 per cat and vaccinations/deworming R350 per cat.

😺 We were asked to assist in trapping a small colony at an Estate in Northriding with at least 4 adults and several kittens.
How could we possibly say no 🙀.

Unfortunately not as many kitties trapped as we had hoped but tomorrow is another day .

🐈2 adults and 3 super adorable kittens safely at Vito Clinic for sterilisation and health checks .😻

As this is not part of our usual colony our budget is very tight and would appreciate any financial assistance to help these gorgeous fur children🐾

Much love and gratitude from Northgate Ferals 🐈‍⬛

Update 1: With a bit of persuasion and the added motivation of some yummy fish , we managed to get Frankie into a pet carrier last night and he/she is safely at Vito Clinic for a health check and to have the nasty abscess attended too.

This is Frankie ❤️

Frankie is VERY food motivated 😹, and gets very feisty with his feral siblings when we spoil them with a kitty picnic of soft food.🐾

Frankie unfortunately has developed a huge access under his jaw 🙀, is sneezing and just generally feeling under the weather 😿

Thanks to after hours advice from Dr Ross from Lammamoer Vet and to Blue Bush Animal Clinic for dispensing meds over the weekend😻, Frankie is on antibiotics until we can get him to Vito Animal Clinic on Tuesday for treatment 🐈 We will keep you updated on his progress.....

If you are able / willing to assist with Frankie's medical treatment he would be eternally grateful 🙏🏻 Please share 🐾

Urgent mid month plea 🙏🏻 We have found 3 kittens and an already pregnant mommy at our colony 😿

We know that times are tough but would anyone be willing to help us sponsor sterilisation and vaccination of these furry children so we can stop the breeding cycle in its tracks ?🐾

We will be trapping on Monday evening but are desperately short of funds .

Our amazing community vet will sterilise for as little as R350 and Vaccinations/deworming R350 per cat.

Meet Leo ❤️

He is best known for his friendly personality and the fact that his little tongue is almost ALWAYS sticking out his mouth 😂 Leo is approximately 8 years old and as far as we know has been with the colony since birth.

Recently Leo was visibly struggling to eat and seemed to be in a bit of pain 😿.

Thanks to some donations recieved from the public we loaded Leo in to a pet carrier (much to his horror🙀) and took him to see the amazing team at the Vito Animal Clinic.

Apart from needing a long overdue dental and quite a few teeth extractions, Leo was given a clean bill of health by the Vet on duty 😻

Leo is safely back with his colony after coming through his minor procedure and vaccinations with flying colours. He has been spoiled with lots of soft food during his recovery period but is back to his usual friendly self 🐈‍⬛

If you are interested in volunteering or are in a position to donate to the care of our colony, please reach out to us 🐾

Much love and gratitude from Northgate Ferals 💕

Northgate Ferals 🐈……where do I even start?

Before today, most people were blissfully unaware of our colony 🐱 or that our Original Feeder , Ricky , who started this journey , has been feeding our kitties since 2004. That’s 20 dedicated years this year. 🏅

Over time, feeders have come and gone and it has been a constant struggle to keep our colony of between 60- 70 cats with full tummies 🫤. Just to put it in perspective , a colony this size eats 15 kg of cat pellets 3 times a week . That’s 210kg a month …..which our volunteers fund out of their own pockets 💰. Then of course there is the cost of sterilisation and medical expenses if one of the kitties gets sick or hurt.💸

On one of my feeds on January 2024, I came across a sickly looking ,older feral who I had not seen before, and my heart broke 💔. All I could think was that these cats did not ask to be abandoned , dumped , left behind , abused or neglected and we as humans need to up our game …..we simply HAVE to do BETTER!!

There and then in the parking lot, I sat in my car and typed a facebook plea on my phone which was fuelled by all the raw emotions of how we as humans have failed those that should be protected by us 🐈‍⬛.
The post was shared far and wide and the responses we received restored my faith in humanity ❤️‍🩹

Our plea for help on facebook came to the attention of Tamry Esiri, a reporter for Caxton Newspapers 📰 who reached out and asked if she could write an article on the story of our colony …..and so our real adventure began 🐾 . I don’t think any of us really understood how instrumental Tamry’s Article would be for helping us take our Feral Care to another level .

The article hit the press and we were immediately showered with love from people in the community who feel the same way about our kitties as we do 😻
From the article as well as the original facebook plea, we now have some amazing new volunteers taking the burden off the last few original feeders that were trying to keep the ship afloat and we received donations of cat food, blankets and kennels to help make the lives of our colony just a little more comfortable .

Several Animal NPO’s also came to our assistance with a wealth of knowledge and some food donations 🥰. Nina, from Lanseria Ferals has been instrumental in helping us take our colony to the next level.🐾
With renewed enthusiasm our little group of volunteers is striving to keep our colony sheltered , regularly fed , healthy and loved 🐱

We are in the process of officially registering Northgate Ferals as an NPO 🤩. We will keep you updated on the progress

We are so grateful to everyone who has supported and helped us over the years Our enthusiasm has been renewed and our commitment to and love for the Northgate Feral kitties will never waver 💕

Should you wish to Volunteer or donate . please feel free to drop us a message and we will gladly be in touch .
