This past weekend's experiences were refreshing and uplifting. The women's event was a heartfelt gathering that brought together members of the community for a day of inspiration and fellowship. Focusing on what it means to be CALLED as women in different states of life.
On Sunday, Atlehang finally made the commitment to make the Braam Kraal her home, and she was welcomed with so much love as we prayed her in. It brings so much joy to see our community grow .
This past Sunday was a powerful reminder of the unmatched reach of Jesus' blood, flowing from the highest peaks to the lowest valleys. Tshepoâs story of redemption stood as a testament to this truth, touching hearts and moving many to tears. Growing up without a father, Tshepo sought acceptance in the wrong places, leading to a 30-year conviction, later reduced to 13. After his release, he found himself on the streets, lost and searching for meaning.
But last year, Tshepo walked through our church doors, and there, he encountered Christ. This past Sunday, we witnessed the beautiful culmination of his journey as he was baptized. It was a moment of pure joy and awe, seeing the incredible work of redemption and restoration in Tshepoâs life.
What a privilege it is to witness and be part of the amazing things Christ is doing among us! From stories like Tshepoâs to the many faith-stirring testimonies we've seen throughout the year, we are reminded that the work of the Gospel is alive and thriving in our midst. Letâs continue moving forward, pressing on with the mission set before us!
"Make it count, leave a mark, build a name for yourself
Dream your dreams, chase your heart, above all else
Make a name the world remembers
But all an empty world can sell is empty dreams
I got lost in the light when it was up to me
To make a name the world remembers
But Jesus is the only name to remember
And I, I don't want to leave a legacy
I don't care if they remember me
Only Jesus
And I, I've only got one life to live
I'll let every second point to Him
Only Jesus
All the kingdoms built, all the trophies won
Will crumble into dust when it's said and done
'Cause all that really mattered
Did I live the truth to the ones I love?
Was my life the proof that there is only One
Whose name will last forever?
And I, I don't want to leave a legacy
I don't care if they remember me
Only Jesus
And I, I've only got one life to live
I'll let every second point to Him
Only Jesus
Jesus is the only name
Jesus is the only name
Jesus is the only name to remember, oh
Jesus is the only name
Jesus is the only name
Jesus is the only name to remember
And I, I don't want to leave a legacy
I don't care if they remember me
Only Jesus
And I, I've only got one life to live
I'll let every second point to Him
Only Jesus
I don't want to leave a legacy
I don't care if they remember me
Only Jesus" Casting Crowns

Our s*xuality is not inherently evil but rather a beautiful part of the divine tapestry of creation. God designed s*x and s*xuality to glorify Him through procreation and the enjoyment of intimacy within the context of marriage between a husband and a wife. Join us for an inspirational account by Themba on how God created s*x for His glory on link below https://youtu.be/EKIyfsaBQWc?si=7n0zXlwIef3BliPV
There was a tangible sense of God's presence at the . Amazing start to our s*xuality series with many responding for prayer and others giving their lives to the Lord. To top all off we celebrated Mthoko and Samu's commitment to one another as they exchanged vows with members of the church giving them words of advice and encouragement blessing their marriage before God as a church family.
In Daniel 1, we see the Hebrews, though made slaves, resist the delicacies of Babylon and are found to be ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in the kingdom. Bongani challenges us to emulate their faithfulness and not conform to the ways of this world. By doing so, we too can excel and bring glory to God in our time. Let's stand firm and shine brightly for His glory! Watch full sermon here https://youtu.be/7IheEO7kpQU?si=a_yCemIGYdavwH9J
Please do join us for this weekâs Imbizo. An Imbizo, which means a gathering of a community, is part of our journey in taking meaningful steps to grow in our expression of racial and cultural inclusivity.
Our focus this time is how we can build friendships/relationships across racial & cultural lines and why this is important. We believe it is a gospel imperative for us to get good at this, as it showcases the unique nature of a gospel community in contrast to any other social setting.
The Imbizo will take place this Saturday, 13th July 2024, from 8:30 - 11am in the church hall. Please do RSVP; this is a catered event. Email [email protected]

"Beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news." It's not the pedicured toes or the stylish shoes that make these feet beautiful. No, their beauty lies in something much deeper. Despite being chipped by stones, scarred and bruised by thorns, and muddied by cow dung, their true beauty shines through the power of the message they carry.
Join us as Themba powerfully shares this moving message anchored in Romans 10:15. Discover the profound significance of these words and the transformative power of the good news they bring.

Last Sunday, as we celebrated Fatherâs Day, Themba challenged us to be active citizens of Jerusalem, the holy city. He urged us to respond to the message of the King of Jerusalem, Jesus Christ, and to fight against the fire of sin and death, as well as social ills like fatherlessness.
Drawing from Nehemiah 11, Themba highlighted how the Israelites gave themselves sacrificially, leaving their rural wealth to become citizens of Jerusalem. He called on us to be living sacrifices, meeting the demands of living for Christ in a fallen world.

Our Story
GodFirst launched on January 30th 2005. Since that first Sunday meeting in Bryanston in 2005, the initial group of twenty missionaries has grown into the thousands. We moved from one congregation to a multisite church of 9 sites with many meetings.
Our church was planted as a site of Godfirst at the start of 2010 and then in 2014 the many sites were transitioned into five autonomous churches that work together as part of the Advance movement of churches around Joburg, South Africa, Africa and the rest of the world.
Our church is part of the Advance Movement of churches, a partnership that plants and strengthens churches.
We are currently meeting in two locations in Joburg with two meetings in our building in Parktown North and two meetings in Braamfontein.
