We are saddened to hear of the passing of Azraa Badrodien Fredericks after a long illness. She was a BSc (Occupational Therapy) student. We wish to express our condolences with her family, friends and classmates. May she rest in peace.
Wits - Unite to end TB!
Researchers from the DST/NRF Centre of Excellence for Biomedical TB Research and Campus Health are raising awareness for World TB Day outside Uthombo building on Friday between 12h00 and 14h00.
Find out why you should never miss a pill, see bacteria mutate under microscope, meet Betty (a cool toy that allows for outreach activities on TB) and take a photo in the selfie booth to show your support to end TB.
Time: 24 March, 12:00-14:00
Place: Main campus, outside Uthombo Building
Prof. Maria Papathanasopoulos and Prof. Bavesh Kana have put together a TB Symposium to be held this Thursday night. It’s a faculty event and intended to bring together researchers and clinicians and student to discuss the work being done at Wits. They are really very keen to attract students to this event and encourage better understanding of TB broadly.

The Faculty is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Brian Moodley (BCMP 3) after a car accident this past weekend. Innocent Lekalakala (BCMP 3) is recovering in hospital.
A memorial service for Mr Moodley is happening now (12:00 on Mon 17/10) in the boardroom and canteen area of the Phillip V Tobias building ground floor.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones, families and friends of these students.

FINAL NOTICE
Students whose lockers were emptied out by Faculty in December 2015, can collect their items from Room 222, 2nd Floor, PVT Building from Mrs Anelie Spies in the week of 30 May – 3 June 2016, 08:30 – 14:00.
Please email your name, student number and 2015 locker number to [email protected] to enable us to collect your bag from the store room. Students who do not make the arrangement will not be able to collect their belongings on the said dates.
Items not collected will be donated to Wits Medical Students’ Council to use as part of their charity program.
The Faculty of Health Sciences wishes to extend its deepest sympathies to the friends and families of the students who passes away in a taxi accident in Limpopo over the weekend. We are greatly saddened by this loss.
