This year I am starting my dream of learning & becoming a qualified practitioner for Humans with the Emmetts technique.
Emmett technique is a Nuero-muscular release technique, which is gentle and non-invasive.
The releases are gentle and often almost immediate & often great results are seen within the first session.

I'm so looking forward to learning more & adding human sessions to my business. Not only will I be able to help athletes in different sports & people outside of the horsey world, but I will most importantly be able to provide Horse & Rider sessions as the rider's body directly affects the horse's body (& vice versa) causing restrictions in releases in the human & horse partnership

Sessions will only be available once im qualified but keep an eye out for this exciting service that will be available in the future

HEATWAVE WARNING 🌡️

With many parts of South Africa experiencing temperatures of close to 40 degrees Celsius, it's important to protect our equines against the negative consequences of such high temperatures.

Here are a few things we can do to help:
💦 Make sure your horse has a plentiful supply of cool and clean water. It is advised that you monitor water intake to make sure your horse does not become dehydrated in this hot weather.
💦 Avoid working your horse in very high temperatures.
💦 Take lots of breaks during your training session to account for the impact of the high heat.
💦 Walk your horse for a couple of minutes after you finish your ride to reduce the chance of blood pooling in his muscles. Ideally, this should be in hand with the tack removed.
💦 Hose your horse down with cold water as needed throughout the day, and after any form of exertion make sure to hose your horse thoroughly. Ideally, in an area with no water restrictions, you should look to hose your horse for 20 minutes to cool him back down to his normal temperature.
💦 Stand your horse in a breeze (in the shade) or under a fan if possible. Paddocks must have shady areas where horses can get out of the heat.

If you notice any signs of dehydration or overheating contact your vet immediately. Signs to look out for include dullness, lethargy, colic symptoms, rapid breathing, elevated re**al temperature, sweating, dark urine, and/or increased heart rate, but if you see anything out of the ordinary seek veterinary advice ASAP.

During a Body work session, a body worker will also affect the vagus nerve, stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system.
Your parasympathetic nervous system takes you Out of the fight or flight state.
This is why massages and fascia release sessions are so relaxing.
