POSITION NAME: Centre Manager
LOCATION: Othandweni Family Care Centre - Soweto

JCW requires the services of a highly qualified Centre Manager as follows:
Key Performance Areas:
• Oversee the overall operations of the centre
• Ensure the centre adheres to all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards applicable to non-profit organisations.
• Generate Centre Management Plan on both short and long-term basis.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and annual reports as required
• Set and monitor goals for department and the staff.
• Monitor the work of the department in accordance with the predetermined objectives and developments.
• Report on progress at the management meetings.
• Review the organisational structure of the department from time to time in consultation with subordinates and
make suggestions for changes if necessary.
• Develop the annual business plan for the Centre
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Social Work Degree
• Registered with SACSSP
• Driver’s license & own car
• 10 years’ experience in a similar role with proven experience in a non-profit management field.
• 5 years management experience.
• Must be able to work on a flexible shift including weekends and night duty when required.

During Child Protection Week, community workers from Masibambisane Community Centre led an engaging child safety session with Don Mattera School in Eldorado Park. The school serves learners with special education needs due to intellectual impairments. Masi’s session covered various risks that threaten child safety and highlighted behaviours that should be reported to teachers or other adults. To make learning fun and memorable, the session was conducted through games and songs.

Thank you Johannesburg Garden Club for assisting the beneficiaries of Masibambisane Community Center in Eldorado Park. 80 food parcels were donated for vulnerable households in the area. It is an important donation because sound nutrition for children and their caregivers is a crucial part of their journey towards empowerment.

Joburg Child Welfare would like to appoint an ECD Principal, at Elton John Masibambisane, Eldorado Park. The successful candidate will be required to fulfil the following functions:
Role: The ECD Principal will be responsible for leading and managing the ECD program, overseeing curriculum development, managing resources and personnel, liaising with parents and external partners, and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. To ensure that the operations of the creche are running smoothly and give support to the staff. Responsible for providing safe and developmentally environment for children.
1. Key Performance Areas
• Manage ECD children enrolment.
• Design Lesson plans with the practitioners
• ECD programme Management: Oversees the operations of the creche and reports to the Centre Manager.
• Attend to the daily dealings in the creche operations and activities in the classroom.
• Ensure safe and clean environment for children.
• Organising events, outings, transport, and other logistics
• Responsible for the implementation of the year plan
• Supervise the staff and ensure that all roles are done effectively and report on their performance.
• Schedule and conduct staff and parents’ meetings
• Ensure that the staff follow work procedures, policies, and compliance.
• Keep an inventory list of the equipment and items in the creche.
• Compile and submit monthly and Quarterly progress reports.
• Compiling Business plans and Monthly and Quarterly Progress reports.
2. Minimum Qualification
• Diploma in ECD Certificate NQF Level 5, Advanced Certificate in Education – Foundation Phase and ECD, Bachelor of Education in ECD – Foundation Phase or equivalent
3. Job Experience & Skills Required
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Respect Children
• Be creative and energetic
• A positive attitude
• Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicts.
• Computer literacy with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Packages
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Be professional and good planner.
• Be a team player.
• Committed, dedicated and self-motivated person.
