KAS Media Africa attends the 19th AIJC - African Investigative Journalism Conference 2023, in Johannesburg. The three day conference brought together 350 delegates from across Africa and beyond. The major themes covered this year included AI, Data Journalism, Safety of Journalists and Sustainability of Investigative Reporting.

What a great week in Nairobi, Kenya! KAS Media Africa and The Aga Khan University Graduate School of Media and Communications brought together 15 newsroom managers from 12 countries across Africa for a successful programme, amid at dealing with managing conflict in newsrooms. We discussed problems coming up through gender, ethics, emotional intelligence and resolving workplace conflict and disagreement in order to lead effectively. Thank you to all trainers, facilitators and all participants who created a fruitful and solution-oriented atmosphere!

As of today, Hendrik Sittig heads the Media Programme Sub-Saharan Africa of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in Johannesburg. Previously, he led the KAS Media Programme Southeast Europe in Sofia, Bulgaria. We look forward to many new journalism projects together! Follow us!

On Tuesday, 30 May 2023, KAS Media Africa launched its publication “Why Journalisism - Stories from News Reporters in Africa”. The German Ambassador to South Africa, H.E. Andreas Peschke, was present at the launch and had this to say;
