Kandy, Charlie, and Bles turned the stable yard into a modeling agency this morning! 🤩
A big thank you to our amazing grooms for getting these ponies into tip-top shape for their photoshoot. They looked absolutely gorgeous. 👏🥳
Congratulations to Delta Cafe! 👏🏻🥳💃
Happy Spring Day! 🌸
We couldn't be more ready for the green to start flourishing and the rain to return. 🌱
We hope you are all enjoying the lovely warm weather and having an outdoorsy spring day!☀️
Two eyes get the job done, but have you tried having four! 👀
Patti and Anna having some Friday fun! 🤍
Can't be any cooler than Anna with her and her Barbie practicing their riding together on their matching grey horses! 😆👏
Watsi has crossed over the rainbow bridge. 🌈
Watsi was a gentle and kind boy. He was known as a giant puppy to most. It was a very unexpected loss and a great one at that. We will always cherish the memories we have of you and wish you a smooth journey to the big paddock in the sky. 🤍
Thank you to Dr. Mike Last & everyone at Northrand Veterinary Clinic for all their assistance, kindness & care for our sweet boy.
Patti Pie is also a sleepy pie!
We are absolutely loving the warmer temperatures with springs' arrival just around the corner. Perfect subtle warmth for some afternoon horse naps! ☀️
Well done to our riders who competed at Champagne Tour! 🍾
We saw some lovely jumping and dressage from our team! As always, when it comes to horses, there are triumphs and learning curves. What matters most is that whatever comes our way, we take it in stride. 💪
You always leave a show with something, and it doesn't just have to be a rosette to be considered valuable! 👏
Best of luck to our riders competing at Champagne Tour tomorrow! 🥳
We're looking forward to seeing everyone put their best foot forward. 👏
A windy windy Wednesday! 💨
We hope you all stayed out of the draft today, August winds are picking up! Our dedicated riders pushed through the breezy weather and did a great job as always. 👏
Peta is currently away. Please contact Gail either via email: [email protected]
Or WhatsApp: 084 511 1432
Jumping into the new week hopefully with the same amount of enthusiasm as Caity and Charlie! 😆👏
We hope you are all ready for the week ahead. We're looking forward to seeing all of our riders! 🐴
Amidst this cold weather, I think we're all a bit stiff, and just like us, our horses can get stiff too! 🥶
Yesterday Ruby had an early morning visit from a fantastic physiotherapist to help loosen things up. 💪
Joined Carina on one of her special morning walks with Patti Pie! Nothing quite like a good chat and a walk by the spruit with your favorite pony in hand. 👏🐴
Dust bunnies? More like dust buddies! 😆
The lack of rain has made just about everything dusty, including our little riders' hands! If you didn't leave horse riding with a little extra dirt on your hands, did you do it right?! 🐴
Pearly whites all around the stables this week! 🦷
A big thank you to our incredible dentist, Pieter Mienie, for taking such good care of our horses and for continually making it a calm and pleasant experience for them all. 🐴👏
A very warm welcome to Avalanches' new baiter, Rozanne! 🤍
We can't wait to see what wonderful memories and accomplishments this partnership has in store. Beyond excited for the both of you. Welcome to the Rangers Team! 🥳
Hello Rangers! 🐴
Please note that Peta will be on leave this week and to contact Gail regarding any queries or cancelations!
I think we should all take a page out of Goofys' book this week. He knows just the way to warm up! ☀️
When the temperature is 0⁰C ❄️ but you're fully committed to your riding! 💪
Brrrr! 🥶 Nature's ice rink has made its first appearance this morning with our water bath frozen up as well as parts of the Braamfontein Spruit. ❄️
We hope everyone is keeping toasty in the cold front!⛄️

Happy birthday to you our very special instructor, Hanlie! 🥳
We hope you have a lovely day, filled with relaxation and loved ones. 🤍
Through Gails' consistent and hard work on the lunge, Bestie is looking better than ever. Now it's time to build that topline! 💪
Horses are animals through and through. They require schooling and consistent schooling at that, it takes a team. Schooling horses is rarely ever as straightforward as it seems. Some days, it can be two steps forward one step back and correctly addressing any new challenges thrown your way. When you have a well established team, anything is possible, and we have just that! 👏🐴
Well done to our riders who competed at Champagne Tour this Sunday. 👏
We are continuously proud of the progress our riders display at each event, we can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in-store for our Rangers! 🤞
Thank you to all of the parents for all of their assistance and preparations. It made the day run smoothly for everyone! A big thank you to our newest Ranger Gail for all of her hard work and guidance. 🐴
Did someone say horse biscuits? 🍪
A sequence of photos following Avalanches many facial expressions as he gets a whiff of snacks, finishing off with his satiated door licks. 🐴
Teamwork makes dreamwork 👏
We wish all of our horse dads a very happy Father's Day, filled with happy moments surrounded by loved ones! 🐴🤍
Bestie is coming into action!
Gail has begun working on fundamentals with her, such as ground work and lunging. 🐴
Time and patience are very important when it comes to young horses and set the course for their riding career. With positivity, a good foundation, and attitude towards work, anything is possible! 👏🏻

Our Story
What started out as a small collection of ponies, has grown into a family of equine and human (and feline) members.
Ranger Stables is a community-based Equestrian Centre situated at REEA, the Rand Epileptic Employment Agency in Craighall Park.
The Rangers work with several community and municipal organisations, such as City Parks, JMPD, Joburg Water, Rand Water, HIV/Aids NGOs, schools and local Residents’ Associations.
Established several years ago, with just two horses, today Rangers proudly houses 23 horses and ponies, most of whom are rescues from dire circumstances that we have managed to rehabilitate and teach how to trust again. Some have taken years to recover, and with rescuing the road is often sad and painful for both horse and human, but each time we are able to give them a happy home, unconditional love and show them there is goodness in the world.
They serve the community through daily patrols along the Braamfontein Spruit, monitoring ecological, social and security conditions.
The Rangers’ equestrian activities include instruction, outrides, competitions, pony parties, pony rides, disabled riding and providing assistance at events as such market days and school fairs.
Although it is a small community of riders, we are a family that is dedicated to helping touch peoples lives and show them just how wonderful and beneficial interacting with these animals can be, while bettering the lives of each incredible animal that crosses our path.
