Time is running out for bookings

This is really something to experience. Challenging and amazing so see.
We have two options available:
1) You meet us the 06th October in the morning and travel with us to the shoot. The cost for this R 1500. 00.
2) We then have an overnight option for you. (5th October)You meet with us at a 5 star manor and overnight there. This includes a breakfast the morning before we depart. The place we are staying at is beautiful.
We enjoy a pleasant evening and depart from there to the run at 07h30.
The cost all inclusive is R 3100.00.
The excursion include a game drive after the run where we get very close to a variety of animals. We actually get to see them been fed.
I personally enjoyed the Wilddogs as they are rather wild when getting fed.
After this we visit the museum to take a tour on the history of the place.

I’ve always preached that the magic of photography lies with the photographer and not the gear. Recently, I was given (blessed) with a bounty of Sony gear, including some legendary Batis Sonnar lenses. This was one of the biggest miracles I’ve experienced, especially as my trusty Canon EOS R began showing its age.

Faced with a crossroads—sell these lenses to invest more into the Canon ecosystem or switch things up and adapt my Canon tilt-shift lenses to a Sony body using an adapter. Having shot with Canon for nearly two decades and amassed a decent collection of Canon Tilt-Shift lenses, the idea of switching brands was frightening. However, the fact that you can use Canon lenses on Sony with very capable adapters, but not vice versa, made my decision both easier and justifiable.

I’m now shooting with the Sony a7R V, and I haven’t been this thrilled with a camera in years. It’s a beast in terms of versatility. Despite being heavily impressed by the 60MP sensor and the insane image quality and details, I was very concerned about the super large RAW files. However, I quickly adapted by using medium RAW or switching to APS-C mode when needed.

I recently tried out the Nikon Z8 and instantly fell in love with it. The R6 Mark II has been a strong contender to replace my EOS R. Although Fujifilm’s systems have always been my dependable backup, they don’t offer full frame sensors and tilt-shift lenses. Over the years, I’ve tested and shot with some of the best cameras from all the major brands and having taught with many different cameras, I can assure you that there are no bad cameras among the top offerings. Still, the Sony a7R V ticks all the right boxes for me.

And a big shoutout to my intern, Albertus van Jaarsveld, for these photos of me and my new camera.

Some photographers might not find this significant, but using a card reader to download your photos is better than downloading them straight from the camera. Read why I say so.

I was up early this morning, working on our upcoming fine art photography course. While searching for examples of the Straight Photography and Pictorialism movements, I came across an article about the ‘Pea-Souper’ fog of 1952 on Flashbak.com where this compelling photograph by Edward Miller caught my attention. It features a London bus shrouded in the heavy smog of December 6, 1952 making its way on Fleet Street.
