Bolo do Caco -Taste of Madeira
Bolo Do Caco “Bolo do Caco” is a delicious wheat bread typical from Madeira Island. Despite the name “bolo” (cake), this is actually a type of bread.
It is flat and circular and is traditionally cooked on a caco, (piece of a tile or flat stone slab). The bread is usually served hot with or without garlic butter and parsley. Bolo do Caco is great with espetada.
