Our Cottage grapevines are bearing deliciously sweet and juicy green grapes at present... and a casual stroll around our garden gets us close with nature and yet another visit from one of the neighbourhoods wild tortoises!

Ideal for families wanting to get away to a quiet, quaint village where you'll encounter more horses and tortoises than people and is an ideal, semi secluded getaway, especially with the current and recent level 3 COVID19 imposed lockdown restrictions.

Location
Our farm style family cottage boasting magnificent views of Bot River Lagoon, Hottentots-Holland Mountain Range and Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate, is a short 1h20m drive from Cape Town.

Space
Our fully furnished family home has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an open planned living/dining area with an indoor fireplace, an office library stocked with local literature and family games and a fully equipped kitchen and scullery. Our wood and gas braai (bbq) is located out on the front stoep (veranda) together with a wooden bench table and a garden dining table and chairs.

The spacious main bedroom is equipped with a queen bed, workspace counter top (laptop friendly) and a sliding door leading out onto a separate patio. It has a shower, basin and toilet en-suite and a relaxing 2 person spa bath, located behind the bed.
The 2nd bedroom has a double bed, TV and a shower, basin and toilet en-suite.
Our 3rd bedroom is the smallest and best suited for children and consists of a bunk bed (single on the top; double on the bottom) and three quarter bed.

All 5 beds have bedding and mosquito nets and 2 of the bedrooms, together with the living area have ceiling fans for those hot days or simply relax and cool down in our spa bath. The main bathroom has a bath, shower, basin and toilet and bath towels/basic toiletries are provided.

We are pet friendly (by prior arrangement only) and there is ample parking within the property.

Our nightly rates vary based on
• the day chosen (weekday/weekend )
• the season (peak/off-peak)

Our listed prices give you access to the entire cottage which sleeps 8 guests.
Available on offer during our off-peak season only are our "Book by Room" packages (rates obtainable by request), suitable for couples and smaller families, wanting to experience the ideal romantic or family getaway without paying for the full use of the cottage. You pay only for the rooms you select whilst enjoying what the rest of the cottage has to offer. Please enquire for further information.

Then look forward to sitting back and chillaxing on our front veranda in one of our comfortable chair hammocks, sipping on a glass of your favourite beverage, overlooking the majestic mountains, vineyards and lagoon, all whilst taking in the sounds of the abundant bird species, and the crackle from the wood on braai (bbq) fire... The kids blissfully playing on the spacious front lawn or huddled around the living room table with one of our family board games; others relaxing in front of the TV, bowl of popcorn in hand, watching a movie on one of our DSTV Premium channels.

Neighbourhood overview
Bring along your bicycles and explore our village or nearby bike trails, or stroll alongside the Lagoon and view a variety of indigenous fauna, flora and bird life and keep an eye out for our Rooisand Wild Horses which roam freely within our neighbourhood, living independently from people in these natural conditions. Please make sure though you wear your masks when out and about in and around the village and sanitize when required. With only 22 reported COVID cases since March 2020 and only 1 currently infected in the village, we continue to strive to keep it that way.

Nearby just 2 mins drive away is our only pub and family restaurant for those treat or take out days and a little Superette which stocks all your basic grocery essentials plus a few little extras.

Here's the beautiful Midnight and her young foal, Amber (born just over 2 weeks ago) taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of Fisherhaven yesterday... Admiring from afar, so as to not startle them, nor approaching them as we continue to strive to keep these wonderful horses in the wild. Blessed indeed! 🙏❤
