Congratulations to our very own Dr Morgan Hayes who recently competed in the Ultra-Trail Drakensberg this past weekend. This trail running festival took place in the southern section of the Maloti-Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site. Athletes from over 50 countries took part in this prestigious event running South Africa’s highest and most remote mountains. Dr Hayes completed this spectacular run in an incredible time of 8hrs 55 mins, placing him in the top 10 in his category. His dedication, grit and determination on a daily basis reflect not only in his running but also in his pursuit of excellence in patient care. We are truly privileged to have such a humble and inspirational leader on our team. Well done!

Last week, Dr. Dean Van der Westhuizen, along with his dedicated Nelspruit Eye Institute team consisting of Michaela, Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, and Jeanley, Practice Manager and Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, attended the prestigious 52nd National Congress of the Ophthalmology Society of South Africa (OSSA). During the event, Dr. Van der Westhuizen delivered a compelling lecture on "practice digitization" and shared invaluable insights on "the real-world experience of running a paperless practice in ophthalmology".
