Did you know nearly 50% of amphibian species, including the Table Mountain Ghost Frog (TMGF), are nearing extinction?

EWT scientists studied TMGF tadpoles' habitat on Table Mountain for three years. They found that high silt content and foot traffic harm tadpole growth, while invasive plants and weirs disrupt their environment.

To protect the TMGF, we recommend:
Building boardwalks to reduce sedimentation.
Removing invasive plants.
Strategically using weirs.
These actions will help preserve Table Mountain's delicate ecosystems. 🌍💚

🌍✨ Celebrating International Day for Biological Diversity – May 22, 2024!

Did you know that ¾ of the land-based environment and about 66% of the marine environment have been significantly altered by human actions. 1 million animal and plant species are now threatened with extinction.

The theme for 2024 is "Be Part of the Plan" - a call to action for all to support the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
What can you do? Educate yourself, visit local museums, conservation areas, and support nature-based NGOs! 🌿

Turn your Friday into a Feel Good Friday by helping us save poisoned vultures. The EWT works closely with the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in Hoedspruit to save these endangered birds. Between 2020 and 2023 we’ve rescued over 100 vultures and released 70 of them back into the wild. With your help, we can expand our range of rescue and save even more of them.
