Today, our school community came together for a wonderful cause—our annual Blankethon in honor of Mandela Day. Our learners and staff collaborated to knit and donate blankets to those in need. This heartwarming event embodies our values of kindness, respect, integrity, honesty and empathy.

Our Grade 2 students were inspired by Karen Katz’s book “Colours of Us”, and learned about the beauty of diversity by mixing paints to match different skin tones. 🌈🎨

On Monday, our Grade 4 students were treated to a visit to the Lion and Safari Park in Broederstroom. 🦁🌳

Learning beyond the four walls of a classroom is so important, and these students loved the opportunity to meet some of South Africa's native residents! 🦒🐆

Students then had the chance to enjoy a picnic in the warm Winter sun, a day well spent ☀️

Our Grade 2 learners are doing hands on informal measurement. 📐

The students are tasked with measuring the length of different objects using matches, bottle caps, twisties even using hand spans and walking stride. ✏️📏

Our Grade 0 students are learning all about Protective Behaviours, and signs to keep you safe! 🟢🟠🔴

This activity was called ‘You’re Bugging Me!’ The children were identifying things that their friends do that may bug them.
They then discussed what we could say to them for them to stop bugging them without being unkind ✋🌸

It is so important to learn these different ways of communicating and expressing our feelings in a healthy way! 🫶

In Grade 4 isiZulu, our students are learning about weather and seasons, and as such, they became weather reporters for the day! 🌈🌥

An awesome isiZulu practical exercise where students were encouraged to use idioms in their presentations, and one reporter commented that it was "as cold as a dog's nose" 🐶⛈
