14 years have passed, The carport is intact and looks 100%.
To this date, the carport has not been re-painted, nor is there any need to paint. NO chipping, peeling & corrosion has taken place. Proving our product outlived our 10 years warranty and continues to serve its purpose and look as appealing as the day it was installed. Designed & specified with beams, sheeting & our UNIQUE fascia gutters, also using all the correct fixers, method of assembly and installation. All to ensure the carport will withstand harsh weather condition, heavy rains & winds up to 140km/p/h.

MZ Awnings was appointed & contracted as the Structural steel contractor(fabrication & installation) 2017. Lonehill Shopping Centre Upgrade. It was around this time in 2017 when contact was made by The Project architect. At that stage there where no drawing / designs for the steel canopies (awnings). The initial quote was for light steel structure made with galvernised lipped channels, bolted together. Rafters L/C250x75x20x3mm with purlin cleats & purlines L/C 150x75x2.5mm. clip lock roof sheeting with flashings, capping's & Industrial profile seamless aluminium gutters & 100mm PVC downpipes .

So much for my proposal with light weight steel.....
Close on 50tons Structural Steel was fabricated & installed for the project. Cut, weld & painting of all the steel sections, plates, angles & uprights was done at the workshop. Then loaded onto trucks and sent to the site. Fabricating, Erecting & installing teams consisted of 19 fulltime employed MZ Awnings Inhouse trained staff & 10 labourers employed for the period off the project. 3month was the full duration, from day of inception till site handover.
