Here are some strategies to help you overcome it:

1. Communicate with your dentist: Share your fears openly.
They can explain procedures step by step and recommend relaxation techniques.

2. Breathing exercises: Practice deep breathing to reduce stress during appointments. Inhale slowly through your nose, hold for a few seconds, and exhale through your mouth.

3. Meditation and muscle relaxation: Close your eyes, focus on relaxing different body parts, and release tension from head to feet.

4. Guided imagery: Visualize positive memories or your “happy place” during the appointment.

5. Hypnosis: Consider hypnotherapy to achieve a calm state and reduce anxiety.

6. Distraction: Bring a friend, listen to music, or watch TV during your visit.
