Spinal Rolling!
This delicious movement is one of my favourite things to do π₯° especially if I've spent most of my day sitting for work!
This posture can be done sitting or standing as well - so anyone in any shape can do it and receive the benefits πͺ·
Benefits of spinal rolling:
β―οΈ Energizes & massages the vertebrae
πͺ· Keeps the spine supple & flexible
π¦ Helps to improve sleep long term by massaging nerves along the spine
π Best done in the morning - shakes off sleepiness & builds energy for the day
π Massages the neck muscles beautifully
𧑠Improves connection between nervous system & the body
πΉIf done as part of a slow, gentle evening practice can also soothe the body and nervous system to get you ready for bed.
If you are going to try this at home please consider the following:
- Start on hands & knees and move slowly
- Inhale to move back, exhale to move foreward
- If not a regular yogi, you could feel some dizziness, that's OK, slow down and breathe
- Stop doing the pose if you feel any sharp pains
- Remember the neck is an extension of the spine so move accordingly
It's always best to be shown and supported by a qualified yoga teacher, but a home practice is all about you connecting with and trusting you. So you decide.

I adore my Thursday afternoon classes with my kids!
At the end of class we chant "ohm" and we do this to create the vibration in the chest and in our ears, it feels delicious, and settles the nervous system.
A point comes where the kids break out into light giggles and it's honestly the greatest sound combo π₯° happy snickering kids and the most calming frequency π
Day made!

It's a rainy Monday morning, my bleed is almost done, but I gave myself so much time to rest this weekend that I couldn't wait to get on my mat and move π₯° it really was a delicious pleasure after becoming 1 with my bed π»
Taking notes from some women's Cycle specialists, like - I've really learnt to allow myself as much rest as possible in the heavy days, and as soon as they're gone I'm bubbling with energy again for the whole month! Living in tune with your cycle instead of popping pain killers and drinking coffee (like I used to) is definitely the way to go for physical and mental wellbeing β€οΈ
I designed this flow for inversions, but due to my π I can't fully go upside down, nor do I want to (disrupts the energetic down and outward flow of the bleed) but I still played and just changed things up where I needed to with blocks π»
This week I am working with affirmations around stability. " I am stable" "My schedule is stable" "My emotions are stable" mostly...π
"My life is balanced and stable" - why? Because my brain has been trying to take me for a damn ride these last 2 weeks and I am re establishing who is boss here! I am!

When I booked this teacher's retreat, I just knew I needed nature, the company of other yogis, and peace! I got that and a whole lot more! π₯°
- We basked in the sun and swam ALOT! π
- Each teacher got the chance to teach a class/ share a meditation and they were all amazing! π»
- I volunteered to be the "go to critter catcher" and faced 2 poisonous little guys who tested our love for ALL life π
- I did my 1st ever partial gut cleanse... OMG, it's scared the crap out of me... literally! I haven't been able to drink alcohol or eat crap since I did this. It hurt me so much, because throughout 2022 I ate and drank all the things that my body hates as a coping mechanism. Not doing that again!
- We did Vamen... What an experience - you feel terrible doing it, but give it an hour and all of a sudden you're full of energy and the highest vibes!
All in all, a beautiful weekend spent with lovely individuals in a spectacular space full of love! .sa
is a Hindu/ Catholic / Christian retreat centre, which is beautiful because it shows us that at the end of the day - all faiths lead to the same goal. Peace, love, happiness and respect. If we cut out all the man made nonsense we add to it all that helps to segregate.

Things around here are changing - and that's totally ok...
Sometimes, I get so set in doing something the way I always envisioned it that it's easy for me to loose sight of what's actually important. Today was a lesson in this.
The goal is still the same, but the path and method is changing slightly, and that's perfectly fine β€οΈ.
Learning to go with the flow more and more and it really feels freeing and full of opportunities π₯°

What a day! I woke up early and cleaned my π . Did an awesome yoga session this morning and planned to do some training later πͺπ½.
Got a bunch of admin & work done, had a stunning visit with Dπ and an awesome strat chat with Jπ₯Έ.
Later on in the day, my neck started feeling a little tender from last night's rough and tumble with that crow pose, it's the last reel if you'd like to see what I mean (instagram) π
many lessons learnt! A mini Milestone achieved π₯³. Appointment with Q booked that's for sure π¦
Either way, a HIIT was just not on the cards for today, and that's OK too - life ebbs and flows and it's better to go with what flows than what the ego demands in that moment - but I still wanted to show up π₯° so candle lit restorative it was π a whole 45 mins - it was glorious!
Even had some bombshell ideas come through when my body finally settled into the poses πΈ and I guess that's where the juice lies - in going with the flow and landing in spots of imagination and wonder π§ββοΈ.
All in a days work π this little yogi has got something magnificent cooking in the pot with the support of some pretty spectacular peeps involved - all will come to light in time π»

Flowing with your flow π©Έ This one's for the ladies
The period is one of the most stressful times on the body and mind. We feel weak, irritable, in pain and all round it's just a tough time to be out and about in the world.
Sticking to the confines of our own space and being able to rest and be in flow is one of the greatest gifts we can offer ourselves, but that's not always possible.
I've slowly but surely been taking to my mat more and more whilst on my bleed and I'm slowly starting to ween myself off of the substances that I would usually take to deal with the pain. It's not removing the pain completely, but it is easing it alot and I'm now finding that I can feel and be in my flow, instead of drugging myself to ease the unbearable pain.
Quite the narrative change π
Our cycle can be such a beautiful time to go inward and connect with ourselves π¦ to be present with our bodies in their most vulnerable time. I want to connect with that, not be on pain meds - so once again, I'm grateful for this beautiful practice, that's always bringing me home β€οΈ
Yoga is for every body.
Last week I was talking to a woman who said "I don't have the right body for yoga." ... ... ... π
This is such a common misconception, that today I thought I'd dispel it.
Every body is a yoga body - you just need to find the yoga to suit your body π».
There are styles and props to make yoga comfortable for everyone from a 5 star athlete to a senile person in a wheelchair.
Here's a few tips:
- If you have never done yoga before, find a studio that offers beginner's yoga π¦ these classes are full of insight and alignment knowledge that is vital for a strong foundation in your practice. A strong foundation can go in any direction
- If you have injuries or ailments, go speak directly to your teacher before class - they can advise you, as well as assist you to make the yoga work for your specific body and needs.
- Cannot exercise for 1 hour? Start with 10 - 15 minutes, build your stamina slowly but surely.
- Got a physical disability? Consult a yoga teacher on the practices that are available for you and what you need - if you want to do yoga, there is always an option and solution.
- Feel too big for yoga? You are not! And any teacher who says you are is not the right one for you!
With yoga, if there is a will - there is a way, and a bunch of props that can make it all accessible to you!

2022 - What a year β€οΈ
On a yoga level, this year I spent a lot of time in Hatha and Yin spaces where I fell in love with them each as individual practices π The power in Hatha and the surrender in Yin brought my soul tons of solice and nurturing exactly where I needed it. My vinyasa practice took a slight back seat, the rest of my life was so full of flow and fire that my yoga practice needed to be something else for a bit - it's funny, internally I fought here for a while π
how we identify and attach to things in life. But the slow and strengthening was exactly what I needed to be able to find my courage and strength to go back into inversions! Yay π₯³
On a yoga teaching level, it's been beautiful - facing my fears and moving with a passion so deep to my heart has been empowering. My golden oldies show me gratitude and softness - if you're under 65 and have the honor of a mostly able body, you're bloody young and have the zest of life at your fingertips! Remember that π My kiddies show me youth, excitement, brightness! We need to remember the whimsical side of life if we are to survive! π¦ My adult classes give me the space to explore my teaching - read the class and create what will suit them best, they challenge me to be better! And by the grace of all the unseen beings, a neurodivergent private client found me and we've been making magic π¦. Not to mention the launch of my website π». Thank you to all you beautiful people that trust me to teach you and share this journey with me! It's always better when it's done together β€οΈ.
On a mental level - thank goodness for the 2 above as they've been a saving grace in this madness of a year that we have all been through collectively and personally - do you agree? - I'm so grateful for the good in my life but holy s**t guys - the world's fu***ng rough out there and we need to show love and stand together through this, not segregate, harm and destroy each other. This year has made me loose so much faith in 1 kind of humanity and find an incredible amount in another. So polarized, it's madness β―οΈ 2023 is going to see a lot of charity and awareness events, bringing people together for good causes and helping those in need as much as we can!
2022 - thank you! It's been a tumultuous year. Beautiful and soul destroying on so many levels! It's creating awareness of the work that needs to be done - for humanity & for mother Gaia. We are one in the same - 1 suffers, we all suffer. 1 loves and thrives, we all love and thrive - it's that simple. My word for 2023 is GENTLE. What's yours?

Woo Hooooooπ₯³!
This is a massive bloody morning for me! After being terrified of inversions for over 3 years after a compressed spinal injury - I'm working towards something that I never thought I would π
Fear and ego are the biggest causes of injury in yoga - so it's a practice in its own to acknowledge and address both, constantly β―οΈ I've been working my ass off to let go of the fear, and trust myself (another HUGE feat) and after 1.5 years of working on this, I'm now able to play with the realm of inversions and flying! Yay me!!
I love videos! You're able to see yourself from the outside - so surreal π₯° On the inside we can be so judgy of ourselves, but I look at this video and the inner voices are like "damn girl, check those muscle lines coming out" and "that half second float is better than no float" "the form needs some work, but it's so much further than you were a while back!"
Though I do notice my little belly popping out at the top there - but in all honesty, I've been through some heavy trauma this year, and I did lean on food for comfort - note that I'm lactose and gluten intolerant π
so even a little burger is a huge f**k up for this little body. But I'm working on it with all my lovely Ayurvedic Nutrition knowledge that I'm soaking up - soon to share with you. And my body has held me so beautifully through all the s**t, she's amazing and I'm not gonna judge her for anything - I love her just as she is! My little temple.
Aaaaanyways - I'm just proud, baby steps, small bounts of progress and a steady path will always lead you to success π that coming from the mouth of an ADHDer π
it's difficult, but everything is - you just gotta choose your difficult!

When I moved into my new little spot, I already saw this happening, such a cute filming space, but, it was too dark as my window is covered by a tree canopy. My lights arrived this week and all of a sudden, it's game time!

**Milestone achieved**
3 years ago, I decided that I'm so in love with yoga and it's magic that I'm going to do my YTT with the amazing Living Yoga and I dreamed about the day that I'd have the honour of teaching in their studio.
Today is that day. It was a cover class for the magical Jo. The fact that they trust me with her students π₯° is enough.
We flowed, sweated, raised our hearts above our heads and everyone left with a smile π

Today I invite you to push through...
Push through the pain, the anger, the sadness, the emotions and stories we like to tell ourselves that keep us from doing the things that set our souls on fire.
I don't mean if you're dog sick to go train, I don't mean if you're burnt out to carry on, and I definitely don't mean to continue doing something if it's breaking you...
But what I do mean is if you're depressed and in bed, go stand out in the sun, possibly go for a walk. If you're angry at someone - don't stew, decide your message and communicate it in a way you'd be proud of. If you're holding back on launching your dreams due to fear of failure, push through the fear, do it - failure is not only certain, bit one of the greatest ways to learn! If you're stiff from training yesterday, push through and at least do some yoga or stretching! Now why??
So in this clip, I'm doing one of .mochocka power half hour classes, as you can see they kick ass! I'm so stiff from training yesterday, my ass and legs specifically. I got up half way and quit today, I had a tear come down and the stiffness was just too much, then I heard my inner voice go " no no, you go back and finish what you started - push through, you can do this" and so I listened, and pushed through and finished. Not only did I prove to myself that I could finish, but it's a step in building my consistency and not my avoidance.
It's not about the task, it's about the habit - if we're in a habit of avoidance, than avoid we will - with any excuse, for any reason, but if we can get past the avoidance habit and push through to building consistency - even if we don't give 100% in the beginning and all we do is show up, the showing up consistently will turn into giving it our all. The trick is to push through and show up.

Waaaaay to often we forget that our time here is finite and this able body will perish eventually. They offer insight, wisdom and just such lovely energy to be around!
It's a constant reminder to be so grateful to be young and able and have a body with no aches, pains and issues. If your body functions well and you have no ailments - it's a reason to be happy and move as much as you can πΈ
